The reason to travel to Hakuba in February is to enjoy the snow scenery and soak in hot springs! My family prefers to soak in private hot springs. After searching for a while, we finally decided to book the Hakuba Sera Resort. 🍴Sierra Resort offers a one-night stay and two-meals lounge that is open almost all day. The lounge provides snacks and free red and white wine during designated hours. Dinner can be Chinese or French 4-course set menu. Breakfast is served in buffet style. ♨️ All rooms at Sierra Resort have snow views, and a QR Code will be distributed upon check-in for booking a private hot spring session. We booked an outdoor hot spring and an indoor hot spring respectively, each with its own characteristics, and it was so cool to soak in the hot spring in the snow😍 🅿️ Parking is free, and there is also a free shuttle bus to the station and the ski resort. Sierra Resort Hakuba Experience In September 2023, we departed from Hong Kong for an eight-day trip to Tokyo. Since we arrived late, we first stayed at Takasaki Station for one night. The next day, we took the JR train for about 4 hours early in the morning and arrived at Hakuba Station. right! It is Hakuba Village in Nagano Prefecture, a well-known winter ski resort. Although there is no snow in Happo-One in September, it is still a great place for mountain climbing! We took a bus from Hakuba Station to the cable car station, and then took the cable car to Rabbit Terrace Station/Kuro Ryodaira Station/Happoike Sanso Station. The view from the top of the mountain was very majestic, and the entire Hakuba Village was right at our feet! After going down the mountain, we walked from the cable car station to the Hakuba Happo Bus Terminal, where the hotel shuttle bus was waiting for us. It took about 20 minutes to reach the resort. Arriving at the resort, the hotel staff was very friendly and helped us check in. The room we booked did not include dinner, only breakfast, but don’t worry, the hotel provides meals at all times, including tea and snacks in the afternoon and midnight snacks at 10 o’clock in the evening! Although it's not very filling, it's enough to fill your stomach! In addition, the resort provides family baths with three types to choose from, limited to once per room. You need to fill out a form to select the usage time when checking in! Since we wanted to choose an outdoor private hot spring, but it was fully booked that day, we had no choice but to go bathing the next morning! Overall, the hotel facilities are very complete and have everything you need! There is a swimming pool, recreation room, piano, billiards, darts, and table tennis table for your use. But you have to book to get into one of the two restaurants, limited spaces, many guests ordering food from the outside (takeaways). Expensive restaurants when you get in, not the best value. No bar but vending machines. No room service. The location turns into a bit of an effort to get to the slopes, buses get full, and you may miss a ride. Hotel only takes you to the central rail and bus station. So location can be challenging.

The junior suite I stayed in this time is divided into two bedrooms and can accommodate up to four people. The spacious room is recommended for groups and families. In addition to the large public bath, there were three types of free private baths. Reservations can be made on a first-come, first-served basis after checking in.
