[2025 Fukuoka Stay] Travel Guide for Hotel Trad Hakata (Updated May)

It is not often to stay at a hotel especially here in Fukuoka because i am from and living here but since I have got an opportunity to try so here is my experience. This hotel itself was really cozy and loved the design inside and outside. Unfortunately, it was not so beautiful view from a window but still good that it is in the city center so you can enjoy the city fully!:)

This is HOTEL TRAD HAKATA, a hotel near Hakata Station in Fukuoka. The hotel is located in the Sumiyoshi district, about 1.1 km from Hakata Station, but there is a free shuttle bus (check the timetable). There is a convenience store on-site. Near the front desk, there is a service where you can mix your own aroma oils to make your own original bath salts. The bathroom and toilet are separate in the guest room. The bath has a rain shower and a large bathtub. Amenities are provided. The room is spacious and you can relax on the sofa. There is a view of Sumiyoshi Shrine and Hakata Station from the window. There is a timetable for the free shuttle, so please check it. The hotel departs from Hakata Station at 6am. The shuttle is by minibus. Such a nice trip in Kyushu. Strolling through Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine’s vibrant approach in Kyushu, I was greeted by the iconic torii gate and bustling shops selling umegae mochi, a local sweet. The air buzzed with energy as I wandered toward the shrine, surrounded by ancient trees. Later, I marveled at the wisteria tunnel at Kawachi Fujien, where cascading purple blooms created a magical canopy. A boat ride along the Yanagawa River, guided by a singing boatman, offered serene views of willow-lined canals. I ended the day savoring a hearty breakfast at a cozy Yanagawa café—miso soup, tamagoyaki, and fresh sashimi on a tray, a perfect blend of tradition and comfort. Kyushu’s charm left me enchanted.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, not very spacious, but well-arranged and fully functional. The beds are moderately firm, and the pillows are ergonomically designed to ensure a good night's sleep. The rooms are well-lit, and although the view outside the window is not spectacular, the simple street view has a certain Japanese elegance. The bathroom is clean and fresh, equipped with high-quality toiletries, showing attention to detail. The breakfast options are not extremely abundant, but the quality is excellent. Whether it's the exquisite Japanese set meals or the freshly cooked Western egg dishes, they all reflect the chef's attention to detail. The staff frequently inquire about the dining experience, making guests feel well cared for. I really rested and came back. The bed was clean and the bathroom was bigger than other places, so I liked it. It takes about 8 minutes to walk to Hakata and 8 minutes to Canal City. It's good for walking and shopping. The location is really good for the price, and the hotel is really clean. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby. It's a bit far from Tenjin. It's 150 yen by bus. There's a 7-Eleven convenience store on the first floor. My husband and I had a good rest. In Japan, we tend to skip breakfast... When we go home, they kindly take us on a shuttle bus to Hakata. It's convenient because you can take the airport bus from seat 11 at the bus terminal. It takes 15 minutes from Hakata. If you take a shuttle from the hotel, you'll arrive in Hakata in 5 minutes. ## Hotel Recommendation

Trad Hakata Hotel felt very clean and tidy overall. In particular, the breakfast was neat and provided a variety of menus, so I was very satisfied with the breakfast. The front desk staff was also very friendly, and there was a Korean-speaking staff member, so there was no inconvenience in communication. The amenities in the room were well provided, so I was able to stay comfortably, and I was especially impressed by the free bed salt on the first floor. It was really great for relieving my tired body after traveling. In addition, there was a 7-Eleven right next to the hotel, so it was very convenient for buying simple items or buying snacks late at night. One thing to consider is that it is a bit far from the station, so it may be a bit far to walk, so it is recommended to take the bus. However, there is a local drugstore right across the street, so you can easily buy necessary items at a low price. Overall, the facilities are good and the service is excellent, so if you visit Fukuoka, this is a hotel I would recommend.

However, there's a shuttle bus to Hakata Station in the morning, and Nakasu River and Tenjin are within walking distance, which seems like a plus. The hotel is so clean and I like it! It's a 20-minute walk to Kennel City Department Store, so I walked around a lot. ㅎㅎㅎㅎ I want to go again next time I go to Fukuoka!

It was a very stylish hotel. The interior and exterior were clean and neat. However, the room itself felt a little cramped. There was no space to put my luggage, there was no table so the floor was messy, and I had to eat on the bed.
