A Trip to Houtong Cat Village: Taiwan’s Cat Paradise
#Taiwan Local Tour
Taiwan is famous for its diversity and beautiful natural landscapes, but in a small village in Nantou County, there is a unique and charming place called "Monkey Bronze Cat Village". This is a place that combines cats, art and culture. I was fortunate enough to experience this wonderful place firsthand, and now let me share my journey to the Monkey Bronze Cat Village.
When I first stepped into the Monkey Bronze Cat Village, I was immediately surrounded by all kinds of cat artworks. The houses, streets and walls of this village are filled with painted cat patterns, each one is unique and hard to put down. There is an interesting story behind these artworks, the residents of the village began painting cat designs on their houses to protect the village from flash floods. Over time, the custom evolved into an art form, attracting tourists to admire and take photos.
Monkey Bronze Cat Village is not only an art village, but also a place with rich history and culture. I visited the local temples, the most famous of which was the Monkey Temple, so named because of the many stone monkeys on the temple roof. At this temple, I learned a lot about local traditions and religious beliefs that have a deep connection to the natural world and cats.
While wandering around the Monkey Bronze Cat Village, I also discovered many interesting little shops and cafes that were cat-themed and offered a variety of delicious food and drinks. I had a cat latte which was a cup of milk foam with a cat face on it, it was so cute. In addition, these shops also sell various souvenirs, including cat-themed handicrafts and T-shirts, allowing me to bring back some memories of the Monkey Bronze Cat Village.
The most amazing thing is that near the Houtongmao Village, there is a beautiful lake called "Fish Pond". The lake is surrounded by green mountains, and the mountain scenery is reflected on the water surface, like a tranquil painting. I walked around the lake, taking in the beauty of nature and felt truly peaceful and relaxed.
Overall, my trip to the Monkey Bronze Cat Village was an experience full of surprises and fun. This village is filled with art, culture, and natural beauty that made me fall in love with this unique place. If you like cats, art and nature, the Monkey Bronze Cat Village is definitely worth a visit and it will give you an unforgettable journey.
