Taoyuan xpark aquarium, convenient transportation, small and beautiful~
#1月好去处2025
#xpark
I have been to many aquariums, including those in Seoul, South Korea, Bangkok, Thailand, and Japan, except for Taiwan. I think the Taoyuan xpark aquarium is a bit small, and it took me about an hour to visit it. However, the glass is very clean and clear, and you can take very clear and beautiful photos. Unlike some aquariums, the glass does not seem to be clean, and the photos will feel blurry and unclean; after visiting the aquarium, you can also go to Gloria Outlets~

Visiting Taoyuan Shiyifen Art Museum: A Tranquil Artistic Space
This visit to Taoyuan Shiyifen Art Museum was very pleasant. The overall atmosphere is quiet and comfortable, making it especially suitable for those who want to slow down and savor the art.
Firstly, the museum is not crowded, making the visit more relaxed and free from any feeling of congestion or disturbance. Additionally, there are plenty of parking spaces around, and there is also a parking lot, which is very convenient for visitors who drive. Although the exterior of the building looks a bit old, the interior has been renovated and maintained, keeping the environment clean and tidy, which does not affect the visiting experience at all.
📌 Room for Improvement
Possibly due to the low number of visitors, there are fewer commercial activities within the museum, and the shops are sparsely populated. If you want to shop or enjoy some snacks after your visit, the options are not many. However, this also allows the museum to maintain a tranquil and serene atmosphere.

Zhongping Road Story House: A warm atmosphere for a night stroll
#1月好去地方2025
The Zhongping Road Story House has a unique flavor at night. The street lights are reflected on the old buildings. Walking through it, you can feel the historical stories of this street. Every brick and tile contains the memories of the past.
We walked slowly along the alley, feeling the unique sense of tranquility here. Occasionally, we heard the music from a nearby cafe, which made us want to stop and savor the beauty of the moment. This is not only a historical space suitable for visiting during the day, but also a great place for a stroll at night, allowing people to slow down and quietly enjoy the warmth of the city.

Mazu New Village: Revisiting After Three Years
It's been three years since my last visit to Mazu New Village. This time, it feels like stepping into an entirely new space. While the familiar military dependents' village atmosphere remains, the overall environment has become more vibrant, especially with the influx of cultural and creative industries, making this place more than just a repository of historical memories.
Three years ago, Mazu New Village left an impression of nostalgia. Walking into the village, the old houses, red brick walls, and vintage window grilles made one feel as if they had traveled back in time to an era filled with the essence of a military dependents' village. This time, in addition to the original historical buildings and exhibition halls, more cultural and creative brands and unique shops have settled in, enriching the cultural layers of this place.
Strolling through Mazu New Village this time, it is evident that it is undergoing a transformation. Although the past history is still well-preserved, the exhibition halls converted from old houses still allow people to understand the life of the military dependents' village that once existed here.

Taoyuan, Taiwan: A place where history and culture meet
🏯 Daxi Old Town is located in Taoyuan City. It was once an important commercial and transportation center, with a history dating back to the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty.
🌳 At that time, Daxi was a distribution center for camphor and tea. Due to its proximity to the wharf, trade with the mainland was prosperous through small sailboats on the Dahan River, which created prosperous businesses and merchants. With the development of shipping on the Tamsui River, Daxi gradually prospered and became an important commodity trading port!
🌍 During the Japanese occupation, Daxi was influenced by Western architectural styles, forming a super-classical Baroque architectural style (a fusion of Baroque style and traditional Minnan decoration). The technique of cutting and pasting and the art of jiaozhi pottery are often used to decorate the archways and roofs, forming a unique combination of Chinese and Western styles.
🏯 Due to its late development, Heping Old Street has preserved many century-old houses. These old houses have been reused, with various snack bars, specialty stores, and cultural and creative shops set up along the street. Walking through the street is like traveling back to a bustling century-old commercial market.
🏯 Architectural style:
📍 The old town has preserved many ancient buildings, which are a fusion of Chinese and Western cultural characteristics. In particular, the red brick buildings on the old street show the style of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, full of historical charm!
🎊 Folk art:
🎀 Known for its "paper kites", many craftsmen are still passing on this traditional craft. You can visit the paper kite workshop and experience the fun of making kites by hand.
🙏 Religious beliefs:
💒 Temples in the old town, such as Daxi Cihu Temple, are the center of local beliefs. The temples are full of incense and the temple fairs are colorful, making them a good place to learn about Taiwanese folk culture.
🚶 Stroll along the old street
🏯 Stroll along the old street and enjoy the unique shops and cultural attractions, especially the food on Daxi Old Street, such as traditional snacks and handicrafts, which are experiences not to be missed.
🎊 Nearby attractions:
🎢 Daxi is also close to natural attractions such as Daxi Ecological Park and Taoyuan Daxi Hot Spring, which are suitable for hiking and getting close to nature. 🌴

Taoyuan Children's Art Museum: A Great Place for a Leisurely Stroll
Last time I visited the Taoyuan Children's Art Museum in the morning, I felt the full energy and childlike fun. Bringing children to play with interactive art installations, they explored and played to their heart's content. Adults could leisurely enjoy coffee inside the museum, savoring a peaceful parent-child time.
At night, it's a different scene. After the lights are lit, the surroundings of the museum are decorated with colorful lights, creating a dreamy night atmosphere. The interplay of light and shadow makes the entire space more artistic, making it a great spot for photos. Whether it's day or night, there's a different kind of beauty here, worth experiencing twice!

2025 Taoyuan Lantern Festival Pokémon Zone is Super Exciting
This year's Taoyuan Lantern Festival location is super convenient, right at Exit 2 of Taoyuan High-Speed Rail Station. As soon as you get off the train, you can feel the strong lantern festival atmosphere! There are also free shuttle buses on site, making it easy to visit other lantern zones. To fully explore all the exhibition areas, you need at least three hours to avoid missing any spectacular lanterns and activities.
This time, the lantern festival not only combines Taoyuan's local culture but also features a nostalgic Pokémon zone. A Japanese performance team has been invited to bring wonderful performances, adding an exotic festive atmosphere. When night falls, the dazzling light show is even more stunning, with colorful lights accompanied by music, making the whole venue feel magical and perfect for taking dreamy photos!

Starlux Business Class VIP Lounge
#JanuaryGoodPlace2025 #TaoyuanAirport #StarluxAirlineVIPLounge
StarluxAirlineVIPLounge is located in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Taoyuan Airport. This time we went to the VIP Lounge in Terminal 1.
It occupies an area of about 31 seats and is equipped with independent and double sofas. The self-service area has salads, soups, cooked food, bread, SEASON cakes, Niaowei ice cream, alcohol and soft drinks, etc. After sitting down, there will be a menu for choosing meals. This time, we chose Fuhang soy milk sesame cakes and soy milk.
The scallion pancakes and pepper pancakes from Fuhang Soy Milk tasted ordinary, and the crust of the pepper pancake was so hard at one corner. The cakes had cheese and chocolate. I only wanted to eat one but I wanted to eat them all 🤣🤣. The cheesecake was very delicious 😋. The ice cream was a collaboration with Niniao, and it was also very good. I ate so much that I was super full before I even got on the plane.
How to enter the VIP lounge:
1. Purchase a Starlux business class ticket
2. Explorer members with a high card or above can bring one additional person (also on Starlux)
3. E.Sun Starlux co-branded card - World Elite card (by invitation only)
Starlux Airlines First Class Lounge
The Starlux Airlines First Class Lounge is located in Terminal 2, directly opposite Gate D7. It takes about five minutes to walk from the Terminal 2 departure area to the lounge. Upon entering the lounge, it is divided into two sides: the right side is for First Class, and the left side is for Business Class.
The First Class lounge has one restroom for men and one for women, as well as a shower room equipped with a Dyson hairdryer. The lounge is relatively small, with a private room that is perfect for those who prefer solitude. Since there are few First Class passengers, the lounge is quite peaceful.
As for the food, I had already eaten my fill at the Evergreen Business Class Lounge and would be eating again on the plane, so I only had chicken satay and some desserts in the lounge. The chicken satay is exclusive to First Class, while the desserts were taken from the Business Class lounge next door 🤣🤣.
The staff were all very nice, frequently asking if I needed anything to drink. They also took me on a tour of the Business Class lounge next door and provided an introduction.
Taoyuan Airport Terminal 2 - First Experience of the Oriental Aesthetics "China Airlines VIP Lounge"
#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025
China Airlines has a total of four VIP lounges at Taoyuan Airport, two in Terminals 1 and 2 respectively. This time we experienced the Gold Card VIP Lounge located next to Gate D4 in Terminal 2. Following the calligraphy and ink painting design style of Taoyuan Airport, this China Airlines lounge is also decorated in calligraphy style, with a very oriental aesthetic atmosphere.
Freshly cooked beef noodles have always been the selling point of the VIP lounge at Taiwan Terminal. Naturally, I ordered a bowl to try it out. The braised soup was very flavorful. Although it was prepared first and then the soup was added, the overall taste was ok, but it was still a little inferior to the higher-end China Airlines Meiyuan.
The VIP lounge of China Airlines Flight 2 is long and narrow. Everyone is crowded near the dining area. There are quite a lot of people with different appetites. They eat quickly and leave quickly. The waiting room outside is more interesting.

Michelin Meal Before Flight in Taoyuan Airport: Wang’s Broth
#newyearnewtrip #travelanywhere Nestled between gates C3 and C4 in Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport, Wang’s Broth offers a unique opportunity for travelers to savor a Michelin Bib Gourmand-awarded meal before embarking on their journey. For those who may have missed the famed original outlet at Taipei’s Huaxi Night Market, this airport stall is an unmissable stop to indulge in the comforting and homely flavors that have earned it such prestigious recognition.
Wang’s Broth is renowned for its signature black gold mushroom braised pork rice, which has become an iconic dish in Taiwanese cuisine. The tender, slow-braised pork melts in your mouth, its rich flavors enhanced by the earthy, savory black gold mushrooms. The combination of the melt-in-your-mouth pork and the umami-packed mushrooms creates a harmonious, deeply satisfying meal that feels both luxurious and comforting. Paired with the rice, the dish becomes a hearty, flavorful feast that reflects the heart and soul of Taiwanese home-cooking at its finest.
To complement the main dish, the set also includes a serving of handmade minced pork ball soup and sliced fish soup. Each soup is brimming with delicate, wholesome flavors that add layers of depth to the meal. The minced pork ball soup, with its tender meatballs, is rich and comforting, while the sliced fish soup brings a lightness to the dish, offering a refreshing contrast to the braised pork rice. These soups are a perfect reminder of the heartwarming quality of traditional Taiwanese cooking—simple, yet expertly executed with top-tier ingredients.
What truly sets Wang’s Broth apart is not just the Michelin recommendation but the exceptional value it offers, especially in an airport setting. The portions are incredibly generous, ensuring that each dish is filling and satisfying. The food is as hearty as it is delicious, making it a perfect meal for anyone looking to enjoy a substantial, top-quality meal before their flight.
Wang’s Broth is more than just a food stall; it’s an experience that encapsulates the essence of Taiwanese home-cooked comfort food. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning traveler, this Michelin-recommended gem is a perfect way to end your time in Taiwan. It offers the warmth of home and the flavor of authenticity in every bite, ensuring you leave the island with a delicious memory of its culinary treasures.
China Airlines' 'Plum Garden' VIP Lounge First Experience: Must-Try Beef Short Ribs, Delicious and Reliable!
First experience at China Airlines' business class exclusive lounge 'Plum Garden'! Thanks to my brother being a China Airlines Diamond member, I got to enter the Plum Garden lounge located at Taoyuan Airport Terminal 2. I must say, it is very unique and has a charming ambiance. The overall design and decor have a traditional feel, which perfectly matches the elegant atmosphere suggested by the name 'Plum Garden'.
In addition to the regular buffet area, Plum Garden also offers a made-to-order main course menu. The flavors here definitely surpass those of the buffet area, especially the must-try beef short ribs. The grilled and pan-seared beef is so tender and flavorful that I ended up ordering a second plate!
The overall resting environment in Plum Garden is quite comfortable and quiet, and the landscaping is very photogenic. If you have the chance to fly with China Airlines, you must come and experience it.
Experience at Taoyuan Airport's DragonPass Lounge: Oriental Club Lounge
Thanks to the DragonPass, I was able to access the 'Oriental Club Lounge' at Taoyuan Airport, located on the fourth floor of Terminal 2 after security. The lounge is newly renovated and stylish, with plenty of seating, though it can get crowded during peak flight times, sometimes requiring a wait.
The biggest selling point of the Oriental Club Lounge is the freshly made hot food. There are six dishes to choose from: braised beef noodles, shrimp roll braised pork rice, goose oil scallion blanched vegetables, wild mushroom sesame oil noodles, healthy vegetable noodles, and taro rice noodle soup. The food is served hot and delicious, and the beef noodles can be customized with less noodles, which is a nice touch.
Besides eating and resting, the lounge also offers shower rooms for a refreshing wash and massage chairs for relaxation, which is quite nice.
Wulai: A Recommended Day Trip from Taipei
Wulai, a hidden gem near Taipei, is a healing spot where nature and culture intertwine.

In addition to the famous hot springs, one of the pleasures is experiencing the culture of the local indigenous Atayal tribe. In Wulai Old Street, you can savor gourmet dishes made with mountain vegetables and glutinous rice, making it perfect for souvenir shopping as well.
Also recommended are the mini train rides with views of the valley and hiking to visit waterfalls.
A luxurious moment spent in tranquility will surely make you forget the busy everyday life. If you want to fully enjoy Taiwan's nature and culture, Wulai is the place to go!
Yuemei Wetland Park - 300 bald cypress trees along the coast form a magnificent and picturesque scenery
Yuemei Artificial Wetland Park is located in Daxi District, Taoyuan City. It is an artificial wetland for the purpose of ecological protection and water purification. The most eye-catching feature here is the more than 300 bald cypress trees planted along the water's edge. These trees will turn into a beautiful orange-red color in autumn and winter, contrasting with the blue sky and white clouds and the reflections on the water, forming a picturesque scenery, attracting a large number of tourists to take photos and check in.
The design of Yuemei Wetland not only takes into account aesthetics, but also has ecological functions. The bald cypress here mainly grows by the water. The abundant water makes the leaves more colorful, especially sparkling in the sun, forming a distinct color gradient. Visitors can stroll here, enjoy the comfort of the breeze, and admire the spectacular sight of bald cypress by the ecological pond.
In addition, Yuemei Wetland Park has complete facilities and provides free parking, making it convenient for tourists. This is not only a good place for taking photos, but also a good choice for walking and exercising, allowing people to relax in nature and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Shop Exploration in Taoyuan, Bade Check-in Hotspot, Secret Coffee Land Hidden in an Old Western Building
Taoyuan | @travelerbade
The #TravelerCafeBade Branch in Taoyuan Meimei is a 70-year-old old-style building converted into a detached patio cafe. Surrounded by green plants, the atrium design of the two floors after entering retains the patio characteristics of a traditional western-style building. The sunlight naturally shines on the small central pool, which is really beautiful. I especially like to have different short words written on the table number plate of each table, so that people can find the most suitable sentence for their mood, it is a very cute little idea.
For the meals, the portions are really plentiful! This time I ordered stewed rice and spaghetti. The taste of the stew was Taiwanese, the rice core was a little too soft for me, but the seasoning was rich with milk, which was excellent. The Tang Yang chicken was even more juicy and delicious, a complete highlight.
As for the pasta, the ingredients were given very solid and the noodles were cooked just right. As for the sauce, it would have been better if the tomato flavor could be a little stronger, but overall it was still quite tasty.
Overall, there were quite a few guests here on weekday afternoons. If you have the opportunity to visit Bade, I really recommend coming here to sit, feel the unique charm of the old-style building, and enjoy delicious meals!

Visit the red Christmas tree at Yuemei Wetland
#圣诞好去处2024
💞Recommendation reason:
Imagine the Christmas-like bald cypress trees, reflected in the pond in rows, what a fairyland on earth
Around Christmas, the bald cypress trees in Yuemei Wetland Ecological Park gradually turn red, reflected in the green mountains and green waters, and are even more poetic and picturesque. They have become a popular spot for Internet celebrities to take photos and check in. It is also a good place for all ages to travel with relatives and friends.
🏖️Recreational facilities:
The Yuemei Wetland, located on the right side of the Dahan River, covers wetlands such as grass marshes, ponds, forest marshes, as well as adjustment ponds and ecological ponds, with an area of about 6.1 hectares. It features colorful tiles, specially shaped seating, and landscaping with frogs, pink whales, and green prawns.
The lush green grass, blooming mountain hibiscus and golden reeds on the shore, the remaining lotus leaves, water lilies, water lilies and swimming fish in the pond create a rich ecology.
