However, the locations of these three hotels are not ideal. The InterContinental and Crowne Plaza in Bao'an were both opened for the exhibition center and are too far from the city center. The Bao'an Kingkey Hualuxe is slightly closer to the city center, but the surrounding area is full of urban villages, residential areas, and barren facilities, making it hard to determine the hotel's target clientele. : Fortunately, the hotel has good hardware. The heavy floral arrangements, staggered walls, and cold marble give the lobby a sense of ceremony. The hotel rooms have a different flavor, with warm wood-toned decor and a small sofa in the corner that provides a sense of security. However, it's worth noting that the sea view rooms face the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway, which can be noisy. The quieter side faces residential areas with no view to speak of. : The breakfast is mediocre and not particularly memorable. The lounge is closed, and the noodle bar is a substitute, but the food is decent. : The newly opened hotel's fitness facilities are naturally good, and the feeling of having the pool to yourself is great. : Overall, the hotel's hardware is not a problem, but the location is a bit awkward. There are no shopping malls, attractions, or subways nearby, and it is surrounded by residential areas, urban villages, and factories, making it not recommended for business or tourism. However, it is worth trying for a staycation, as the price is the lowest in its class, and the points redemption is also cost-effective.

Affiliated with the InterContinental Hotels Group, this was my first InterContinental experience. I chose to use 'high-end hotel' rather than 'luxury hotel' in the title for several reasons: 1️⃣ Hotel Positioning: HUALUXE is likely in the second tier of InterContinental's brands and is marketed as a hotel brand targeting Chinese guests. Its positioning is 'high-end' rather than 'luxury.' Compared to other hotels, its positioning is similar to Marriott, Renaissance, Hyatt, and Sheraton. We will share personal insights on these other brands in Shenzhen next. 2️⃣ Price: At a current price of 600+, this is the lowest among other hotels of the same level in Shenzhen! Considering its location, it is close to the airport, with relatively weak surrounding infrastructure and limited scenic views. From the perspective of the target audience, it mainly serves nearby residents and travelers needing airport access (though there is a closer Hyatt near the airport). Considering its newness, the hotel opened in mid-November 2024, and its overall service structure might still be in the testing phase, with the executive lounge not yet open. 3️⃣ Hardware: Frankly speaking, the design is impressive. Whether it's the well-organized room layout, the thoughtfully designed lobby, or the overall interior decor, the Chinese style elements are prominent and look beautiful under the lighting. Although the flowers are fake, they do not detract from the aesthetics. The indoor pool design is standard, but the view outside the floor-to-ceiling windows is somewhat disappointing. The executive lounge is not open, and the lobby bar's tea is the highlight, though the snacks are not highly recommended. 4️⃣ Restaurant: 'Noodle House' and breakfast share the same space. The former's taste is excellent and truly represents the hotel's dining level. Breakfast is also commendable and worth trying, outperforming Marriott and Renaissance in this aspect. 5️⃣ Service: Thanks to HUALUXE for providing re-employment opportunities for many older friends. Seeing faces of different ages is highly commendable. However, there is still much room for improvement in overall training! During peak times, the restaurant staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. The doormen or concierges appeared somewhat indifferent, while the older staff were more enthusiastic and polite than the younger ones! 💪🏽 Looking forward to its continuous improvement.
