Kowloon City Time-honored Shop
The number of times I have been to Kowloon City is really very few, and I would hardly come here unless my friends were moving into a new house. The old district here has the characteristics of old Hong Kong, and even the Sung Wong Toi MTR station is filled with historical relics. We chose this classic old restaurant that night, and both floors were already filled with diners.
Lamb with coconut milk and green curry - $118
My favorite among the yellow, red and green curries is green curry. It has a rich aroma and is added with coconut milk to make the taste smoother while reducing the irritation of green chilies. The lamb belly is slightly boney and the meat is slightly tough, but the taste is rich and mellow. Thai eggplant, an essential ingredient in traditional green curry, is round and small in shape with a crispy texture.
Seafood Fried Noodles (Wet) - $118
The thick Thai rice noodles are springy and absorb the thick sauce, and the portion is very generous. The seafood ingredients are also very rich, including fresh and chewy shelled and deveined prawns, chewy octopus and mussels. There are also refreshing fruits and vegetables such as kale, corn cobs, straw mushrooms and carrots.
Grilled Satay Skewers - $118/6 skewers
You can mix any three kinds of meat: beef, chicken and pork, and here you have three of each. The skewers have a slightly burnt aroma, the chicken is tender and juicy, the beef is rich and tasty, and it is paired with the rich sweetness of satay peanuts.
Mango Smoothie - $38
The smooth and delicate shaved ice is refreshing and full of sweet mango flavor.
Thai Ice Milk Tea - $36
Although Thai milk tea tastes sweet, especially smooth and has a strong milky flavor, it still retains the aroma of deeply roasted Thai tea leaves. Even the ice cubes are made of milk tea snow, and the taste does not fade at all due to melting.
