🌟Must-visit highlights
①Cherry Blossom Tunnel×Thousand-year-old Pagoda
Hwangnyongwon is built around the "Jungdo Tower" from the Silla era, with cherry trees and stone lanterns scattered on both sides. In spring, pink cherry blossoms are in full bloom, coupled with the mottled ancient tower, it is simply a movie scene that travels through time and space 🎞️ It is strongly recommended to go there in the early morning, when there are fewer people and the light is good. You can take pictures easily and dominate your circle of friends!
②The collision of history and romance
This was once a royal temple of Silla. Although the ruins are now somewhat dilapidated, the "Sakura Lantern Festival" is held during the cherry blossom season. At night, the lights illuminate the tower, the cherry blossoms and candlelight interweave with each other, it is extremely romantic. Who understands this atmosphere!
③ Starbucks hidden viewing area
It’s a 5-minute walk from Hwangryongwon to the Starbucks opposite Gyeongju World. From the window seat on the second floor, you can overlook the reflection of the cherry blossoms on Bomun Lake. Order a cup of Sakura latte, look at the scenery of lakes and mountains and the falling cherry blossoms, and you will feel extremely relaxed!
④Gyeongju Tower × Sakura Hollow Art
On the way, we went to the EXPO Park next door to check out the Gyeongju Tower. This 63-meter-high hollow building was inspired by the Hwangnyongwon carvings. Climb up the Gyeongju Tower and enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the sea of cherry blossoms and the ancient city. At sunset, it is so beautiful that every frame can be used as a wallpaper!
⚠️Tips
The cherry blossom season is very short, only about a week from blooming to withering, so it is important to grasp the timing! The peak flowering period is from late March to mid-April. If you plan to go cherry blossom viewing, be sure to pay attention to the flowering information in advance.
Tips for avoiding pitfalls: Hwangnyongwon≠Hwangnyongsaji (Hwangnyongsaji is a ruins park). When navigating, be sure to look for "황룡원" and don't go the wrong way!
