The contrast of the red Dancheong and the snow-covered stone steps was impressive. The snowy scenery of Paldasan Mountain seen from the 2nd floor of the gate tower was memorable. As a bonus, I found a stone with clear traces of iron wire from the time of construction in 1794 next to the stairs! Solo travel recommendation😚 Quiet time: Weekdays 4-5 PM (best for sunset) Hidden spot: Traces of Joseon military rest area inside the left side of Hwaseomun Ammun (暗門) Local restaurant: Walnut cookies (2,000 won) from the 'Old Bakery' in front of Hwaseomun Around 5:50 PM, I watched the night guard changing ceremony being prepared under the gate tower.
