#KobeTourism A park where you can see the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge up close, with a parking lot and a relaxed atmosphere. The bridge is quite impressive when you look up at it from directly below. You should also visit Maiko Promenade, which costs 300 yen to enter the bridge. You can enjoy souvenir shops, restaurants, and an observation deck. I forgot to take a photo, but there is also a zone where you can walk on glass panels and see the ocean at your feet. Also, I thought the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge was in Akashi City as its name suggests, but it seems that its actual address is in Kobe City. Personally, I thought it would have been better to call it the Kobe Awaji Bridge.

There’s also the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall nearby for a visit. I highly recommend purchasing tickets to go up the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge and walk along the scenic footpath. The view from the 8th floor is fantastic, offering both distant views and an exhilarating experience of walking on the glass floor (don’t worry—it's just a small section for those afraid of heights). 🌸 Sumaura Park — A Sacred Land for Experiencing the "Sea of Cherry Blossoms" 🌸 The Sannomiya-Himeji One Day Pass is key here. After exiting the station, you can exchange for a cable car ticket at the entrance. The first two sections of the cable car are free, but later sections are individually priced. I highly recommend the Sky Bicycle (available until 4:00 PM) for just ¥200. I arrived a bit late and nearly missed it because they only accepted coins, and I was short by ¥150. Thankfully, two kind Chinese sisters helped me out with ¥50 and even took a picture for me. It's moments like these that make solo travels feel so warm. 🌸 Suma Seaside Park A very chill beach, perfect for sitting by the shore or at a café to relax and watch the sunset. As I strolled along the beach, humming to one of Arashi's songs, I couldn't help but think about how life’s worries, like unfinished work, simply disappeared. The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge around Kobe is a small city that is very suitable for roaming. You can buy a ticket to enter the bridge and overlook the entire strait. The scenery is very spectacular. Plus, there are lots of pine trees 🌲, which make for great photos with the play of light and shadow. 2⃣️ Sannomiya Station Almost all the good food is here. I suggest looking for restaurants in the small alleys. Lunch won't be too expensive, and I think you can't go wrong with any beef dish. 3⃣️ Kitano Ijinkan This area was the embassy district during the Meiji era and has a lot of Western-style buildings, which are characteristic of a port city. There are also super many coffee shops and dessert shops. Had chestnut cake with a friend and visited a unique Starbucks, which is also worth the visit. 4⃣️ Ikuta Shrine A shrine ⛩️ that's said to be very effective for love wishes, located near Sannomiya Station. #thingstodo Second longest suspension bridge in the world. You can take the elevator up to the viewing area with a gift shop and restaurant. Wish you could walk on top of the bridge, but the small walkway and visitors center was nice. But for the bigger and better version of the golden gate, the visitor part feels a bit of an afterthought. Regardless, good views and neat experience. I would go back. Such a breathtaking view!

The bridge itself is accessible by elevator and you can see how large and tall it is, also on top it is a restaurant.Wish you could walk on top of the bridge, but the small walkway and visitors center was nice. But for the bigger and better version of the golden gate, the visitor part feels a bit of an afterthought. Regardless, good views and neat experience. I would go back.

We visited Maiko Park on a sunny day in the early winter. The sunset over the sea is beautiful, though it's cold. You can easily come from the station by sidewalk, there is a toilet, there is a plaza and there is a fence on the sea side, so it is safe for children, and since the slope continues from the station, wheelchair users can also come. The station building is also recommended, and everywhere you can see the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge with large windows, there are coffee shops and restaurants. After that, when you go to the base of the bridge, the main is mechanic, and this is also very impressive.
