The views were spectacular. The Old Town of Lugano is a very intimate part of the city. There are lovely shops, restaurants and places to stay. We also visited the cathedral, which is directly across from the train station, is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out! We then explored the Lake Lugano, which is the ultimate highlight and the main attraction in Lugano. Who can resist swooning at lake views like this? Even if you never even go on the water, just looking at this gorgeous lake is better than therapy! The view here is spectacular! The lake is surrounded by mountains perched with houses and interesting boundary of Italy and Switzerland. If you’re wondering what to see in Lugano in one day, then the lake is an absolute must. We might not spent that much time in Lugano, but I believe that there's more to see in this beautiful place. If you miss nature while sightseeing in Milan, a day trip from Milan to Lugano, Switzerland, is a fun and refreshing lakeside walk with beautiful air and scenery. It takes 1 hour and 15 minutes by bus from Lampugnano, Milan. Even though it is close, prices are suddenly higher than in Italy, so we had a simple lunch at McDonald's, but even that felt expensive.
