𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩*⋆✈Saitama Prefecture𓂃 𓈒𓏸Chichibu Onouchi Valley Icicles I thought, "There's a place like this that you can go to from Tokyo for a day trip...!", so I went to the Onouchi Valley Icicles, one of the three major icicles in Chichibu, which I've always wanted to visit. In fact, this is an artificial icicle created by laying a pipe 500m from the Onouchizawa River, which originates from Mt. Ryokami. It's a dynamic location, with a circumference of about 250m and a height of 60m. I thought it would be very cold, so I dressed very warmly, but although there was snow here and there on the roadside, it was a spot that I could go to with much lighter clothing than I expected😂👍 However, the altitude is quite high, and it's still cold, so it's better to dress warmly◎ It's nice to be able to see the icicles easily without having to drive on snowy or icy roads! Mount Ryogami is located on the border between Ogano Town and Chichibu City in Saitama Prefecture. It is situated in the northern part of the Okuchichibu mountain range and has an elevation of 1,723 meters. It is one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains. The most common route to the summit of Mount Ryogami starts from the Hyuga Otani trailhead, also known as the 'Omote Trail' or 'Omotesando.' First, you enter from the Hyuga Otani trailhead and walk along a gentle path to Kaisho. Along the way, you can see statues of Kannon, experiencing the history of mountain worship. About 30 minutes from Kaisho, you will reach the unmanned Kiyomi Hut. From here, the trail becomes steeper with many chains, so proceed with caution. After climbing the chains and continuing further, you will arrive at Ryogami Shrine. From Ryogami Shrine, the trail becomes gentle again, and after climbing the final chains before the summit, you will reach the top of Mount Ryogami. This route is popular because it offers a mix of gentle paths and steep climbs with chains, providing the enjoyment of hiking.
