A day trip by high-speed train from Lisbon! A trip to search for azulejos in Porto
#TrainTravel2024
About 3 hours by train from Lisbon. Porto, a world heritage city that can be visited on a day trip by high-speed train.
🚃How to get there from Lisbon🚃I took the CP - Comboios de Portugal train from Santa Apolónia Station in Lisbon to Campanha Station, then took a taxi to Cafe Majestic. After taking a break at the cafe, I went on a tour of the azulejos🎵⚠️You can buy CP train tickets in advance, so I recommend buying them online in advance! It's really difficult to buy tickets on site😓
Porto has many buildings decorated with cute white and blue azulejo tiles! Here are some azulejo-patterned buildings that I actually saw in one day🎵You can go around them all on foot🎵Recommended course: Almas Cathedral → São Bento Station → Santo Indefonso Church → Carmo ChurchTransportation: WalkingEstimated cost: 0 yen because I only saw the exterior! Tips for walking✅There are many slopes, so the route is important! The basic approach is to walk from north to south. ✅Just walk. Also, the cobblestones in Portugal are difficult to walk on, so I recommend wearing shoes that are easy to walk in, such as sneakers. I tried it with recovery sandals😂📍Almas CathedralAddress: R. de Santa Catarina 428, 4000-124 Porto, PortugalRecommended point: The exterior is cute🩷, so it's free if you just want to see the exterior! 📍Santo Indefonso ChurchAddress: Praça da Batalha s/n, 4000-101 Porto, Portugal📍Sao Bento StationAddress: Praça de Almeida Garrett, 4000-069 Porto, PortugalRecommended point: You can walk to the main tourist sites from this station, so it is recommended to come here by train and walk from there📍Carmo ChurchAddress: R. do Carmo, 4050-164 Porto, Portugal
