[2025 Komatsu Attraction] Travel Guide for Ishikawa Aviation Plaza (Updated Apr)

We would like to introduce you to Ishikawa Prefectural Aviation Plaza, located right in front of Komatsu Airport in Ishikawa Prefecture. Ishikawa Prefectural Aviation Plaza is free to enter and displays merchandise from the Air Self-Defense Force's Komatsu Air Base, as well as the interior of the government aircraft. One particularly noteworthy exhibit is the one dedicated to Rock Iwasaki, Japan's top acrobatic pilot who died in an aircraft accident during training. Rock Iwasaki was once an ace Air Self-Defense Force officer, so we believe he is being introduced here. Rock Iwasaki had two Pitts S2Bs, and the second one is on display. Be sure to stop by if you're at Komatsu Airport.

#japantrip Lots of rare aircrafts in this museum. Aircrafts that is the only one existing in Japan, aircrafts that were hand made by an individual in Japan, and so on. A YS-11 simulator which was used to train actual pilots was there too. If you are bringing kids, there are more simulators upstairs, which may be fun. Plus, if you like seeing engines in their original place, this is one of the places to find them. It's rare these days!
