One night and two meals | Sharing on hot spring hotels in San'in, Japan
How can you come to Japan and not take a hot spring bath? This time I stayed in 3 hot spring hotels in the San'in area. All of them offer one night and two meals, and each has its own characteristics, especially the food! All the ingredients are fresh from the local area, and seafood such as fish, crabs, abalone, etc. are all caught that morning and directly supplied. I specially compiled it to share with you.
They are:
♨️Shimane Prefecture Yunokawa Onsen: Yuya-an (Pictures 1-6)
The hotel is located in an old house, and the Japanese-style room I stayed in has a garden view. There are 5 private baths to choose from, 3 of which are open-air baths where you can enjoy a bath while looking at the garden.
🍽Dinner was a Kaiseki banquet. Fresh black throat fish and Shimane wagyu beef were the specialties of Soan. I also recommend their award-winning wines.
🥣Breakfast was a Japanese set meal, which was also healthy and delicious.
Soan has its own garden, which is quite picturesque. Unfortunately, it rained when I stayed there. The Sanin region is rainy, so the moss in the garden grew particularly well.
Address: 1491 Gakuto, Hikawa-cho, Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture
♨️Misasa Onsen, Tottori Prefecture: Misasa-kan (Figure 7-11)
Misasa Onsen has a long history of more than 850 years and is the world's leading radioactive hot spring with the highest radon content. I followed Conan to check in at Misasa Onsen Misasakan. The hotel is super big and there are several hot springs. Private hot springs require reservations, but public hot springs can be soaked at any time. I highly recommend the outdoor hot springs and the rose bath, which is like taking a bath in the garden, so beautiful. The room has Japanese tatami and you can enjoy the garden from the room.
In addition, the Misasa Onsen Village itself is very beautiful, with cherry trees planted along the river. I can't imagine how beautiful the cherry blossom season is. 🍽The dinner banquet has crabs caught that day and beef sukiyaki, which is extremely rich. 🥣Breakfast is a buffet. Address: 174 Yamada, Misasa-cho, Tohaku-gun, Tottori Prefecture. The nearest JR station to Misasa Onsen is Kurayoshi Station. There is a direct bus from Kurayoshi to Misasa. ♨️Tottori Prefecture Kaike Onsen: Kasuitei (Pictures 12-15)
By the sea! A real sea view room. If you have time, you can go for a walk on the beach. I stayed in a Japanese-style room with a bed. The room was very spacious and very suitable for people who are not used to sleeping on tatami. When I opened the curtains, I could see the sea view. In the morning, there were seagulls flying by the window. The hot springs are divided into indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor open-air hot springs also offer a panoramic sea view. I took a bath once in the morning and once in the evening, enjoying the relaxing time while watching the seaside. Moreover, they have their own springs, all of which are running water. 🍽The dinner was quite luxurious, with fresh abalone cooked on site, special Yonago wagyu beef, and clam soup. I ate until I leaned against the wall. Address: Kaike Onsen 4-19-10, Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture
