[Izumo, Shimane] The best matchmaking spot ✨ Izumo Taisha Shrine
Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture. I visited Izumo Taisha, famous for matchmaking. It is believed to be the god of matchmaking, family prosperity, and business prosperity. It is said that gods from all over the country gather at the Kamiari Festival, which is held every October. There are beautiful buildings, a Kagura hall, and a vast torii gate, and you can feel the traditional Japanese architectural style and culture. And the shimenawa of Izumo Taisha was very impressive. I visited around 12 o'clock on a weekday, and there were a lot of people. In addition, you can enjoy eating and shopping at Shinmon-dori, the main street of Izumo Taisha, and Goen Yokocho, which was built in front of the main gate of Izumo Taisha. There were lines at the restaurants at lunchtime. The grounds were very impressive and spacious, and I was able to get a fortune and a goshuin. It is a shrine that gives you a lot of power, so please visit it once. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The oldest shrine in Japan! Izumo Taisha
Izumo Taisha Shrine is located in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture.
The nearest subway is Izumo Taisha Shrine.
It is recommended to take the subway from Tottori Daisen or take the bus from Hiroshima.
It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the subway station.
Here is Japan's largest shimenawa (not in the shrine but in the Kagura Hall).
It is super spectacular when you see it in person! The people in the group photo become super small🤣
This is also the oldest shrine in Japan, and it is well-known
It is said that gods from all over Japan will come here to hold a meeting every October! !
The main deity worshipped is Okuninushi, which is also full of mystery. There are statues and story explanations specially made at the entrance~
The whole shrine is very suitable for a leisurely stroll to experience the quiet feeling
Here I also met a very nice temple abbot who helped me take a photo with the rope
I also drew the first fortune, which is a different kind of reward😂

[Shimane Prefecture] If you want to rent a car at Izumo Station, go here!
I went sightseeing in Izumo City by JR.
I would like to introduce the "Nippon Rent-a-Car Izumo City Station Office" that I used on that occasion, as it was very convenient.
Only 1 minute from the north exit of JR Izumo City Station! The rental car office is located on the first floor of Twin Leaves Hotel Izumo.
The building was easy to find.
The rental car is located in the Twin Leaves Hotel parking lot, so it was easy and convenient to return it.
It just opened on June 24, 2024, so the rental cars are new and very clean.
The reception was also smooth. I recommend it.

[Sleeping car train] Sunrise Izumo - a must-ride
The only sleeper train currently in regular service in Japan, the Sunrise Seto/Izumo, is made up of two seven-car trains.
The trains are separated at Okayama Station, leaving the Sunrise Seto bound for Shikoku and the Sunrise Izumo bound for Sanin.
I was finally able to ride the Sunrise, which I'd always wanted to ride. It's best to get a seat on the day you want, but that's not always easy, so I kept checking availability and arranged for a seat when one became available.
The sleeper train I'd always wanted to ride was even better than I'd imagined! I'd definitely like to ride it again!!

[Izumo] I want to drown in the rising steam of this soba soup✨
Izumo Taisha Shrine Approach [Soba Restaurant Tanakaya]
Tabelog's Top 100 Soba Restaurants⭐️
Izumo soba, one of the three major soba in Japan, has a strong aroma because the buckwheat seeds are ground with the skin on in a stone mill💓
Wareko soba is delicious because the air that remains in your mouth is delicious♫
Wareko soba is eaten from the top, and the remaining soup is poured on the bottom.
Kamaage soba, where soba is eaten in soba soup,
the soup is soba soup, so the aroma of soba rising from it is amazing💡
It was refreshing and fragrant, and the refreshing aroma of soba spread in my mouth❤️
It's worth waiting in line.

[Shimane] The visit to Izumo Taisha Shrine begins at 🌅 [Inasa Beach] 🌅!
🌅【Inasa Beach】🌅
Before visiting Izumo Taisha, I stopped by Inasa Beach in Shimane Prefecture✨
This place is close to Izumo Taisha, and visiting Izumo Taisha starts here❣️
At Inasa Beach, it is a traditional custom to scoop up sand and take it home to visit Izumo Taisha.
I also took that sand with me to Izumo Taisha⛩️
At Izumo Taisha, you can show your gratitude to the gods and pray for good luck by returning the sand you brought with you🙏🧡
【Access】About 30 minutes by bus from Izumo City Station
You can also access it by car.
There is also a parking lot, so it is convenient to visit🚗.
Admission is free, and there are cafes and restaurants in the area, so you can spend your time leisurely🍽️.
A relaxing time at Inasa Beach and a heartwarming visit to Izumo Taisha. Both were wonderful experiences. Please use this as a reference for your next outing 🌟

[Shimane Izumo] If you go to Izumo Taisha Shrine, you should definitely visit this place
Located right next to Izumo Taisha Shrine, the Shimane Prefectural Museum of Ancient Izumo History is a place where you can learn about the history of Izumo Taisha Shrine. There was a brief explanation when you entered, and you were told that photography is generally OK, but there was one place where photography is not allowed. The places where photography is not allowed are clearly marked, so it was okay to take photos in other places! Bronze vessels and swords are also on display, and the exhibition room with many swords was impressive and amazing! I was able to feel the history and realize that it really existed. This time, the special exhibition was an exhibition of Oki Province, and there were exhibits such as Candle Island, which was worth seeing. Opening hours: 9:00-18:00 📍99-4 Kitsuki Higashi, Taisha-cho, Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture #Sakura2024 #ShimaneTourism
Shimane Prefecture Roadside Station Kirara Taki
This roadside station is located southwest of Izumo City on Route 9, but it's not just any roadside station. It's a scenic spot with a panoramic view of the coastline, and there's also a popular place name monument in recent years. In the summer, it gets very crowded because there's a beach right in front of it. The souvenir shops and restaurants are also large, and it feels more like a service area on the highway than a roadside station. There are windmills nearby that are overwhelming in their power. It may not be a tourist spot, but it's well worth a visit. The coastline from Izumo City to Hamada City is currently under construction and is patched together, but it's free to use, so it's not a bad idea to take a drive and see for yourself.
[Shimane] Hamburgers you can eat while looking at the ocean
At IZUMO KYRYO CLIFF BURGER, located along the road, you can enjoy not only hamburgers but also ice cream and coffee. They also sell goods.
On this day, they also had Taiwanese mazesoba and shaved ice.
The hamburgers are made with Shimane Wagyu beef and the buns were delicious.
☑︎Cheeseburger ¥1,000
☑︎+Soft drink & fries ¥600
There is also a place to do barbecues.
However, there is no seating inside the store and it is all outside, so if it is raining or windy, you will probably have to go to your car right away.
On sunny days, the sea is right in front of you and the view is really beautiful, so I recommend it.
Opening hours: Monday-Friday 11:00-18:00 Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays 11:00-19:00

Roadside Station Kirara Taki in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture
A rest spot with the sea right in front of you!
A place you can easily stop by when you're tired of driving
There's a beach in front of it, so you can swim
It's also great to sit on a bench and look at the wide sea
Figs are also famous in this area, and there were a lot of figs for sale at the time♪
There was also fig jam and ice cream, so please try them🎵
It makes a great souvenir

📍Hoshino Resorts Kai Izumo/Shimane Prefecture
Hoshino Resorts Kai Izumo, the hot spring that they are proud of ♨️
The changing room is spacious, bright and clean 🫧
All the amenities are Kai brand ✨By the way, the shampoos in the washing area were also Kai brand 👀
There are a sufficient number of showers, and the atmosphere is spacious and bright 🤍
The open-air bath has a spectacular view of the Sea of Japan 🥺
Because of its high salt concentration, it is said to be likened to "purifying salt" and is recommended for use as a purification bath before visiting a shrine 🌿
(We were accompanied by the hotel staff and were allowed to take photos of the hot spring)
In the public space outside the hot spring, "Izumo barley tea" and "Izumo ginger drink" are always available as post-bath drinks, which is also nice ☺️
In addition, there are three types of free ice bars, which can be eaten freely, so I look forward to going to the hot spring every time 😊

Sunflower fields in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture
Sunflower fields near Izumo Airport. Apparently managed by an agricultural cooperative called Okisu. I think Okisu comes from the place name Okisu. The sunflower fields are not particularly large, but when you take a photo of the whole field it feels spacious. Also, admission is free, so you can look around freely. There are parking spaces for about 15 cars on the premises. I visited on a Sunday, and there were not many people, so I was able to take my time taking photos. However, it's such a wonderful place that the city or the corporation should do a bit more to promote it as a tourist destination. I felt it was a real shame.
Shimane * Mysterious Hinomisaki Shrine and Inasa Beach
Hinomisaki Shrine
455 Hinomisaki, Taisha-cho, Izumo-shi, Shimane-ken 699-0763
About 20 minutes by car from Izumo Taisha
About 60 minutes by car from Izumo Enmusubi Airport
You can also get there by bus.
While Ise Grand Shrine protects Japan's daytime, Hinomisaki Shrine is said to protect Japan's nighttime.
The lower shrine (Hisinzumi-no-miya) enshrines Amaterasu Omikami.
On the hill to the right, the upper shrine (Kami-no-miya) enshrines Susanoo-no-mikoto, making it a shrine where two gods, sister and brother, are enshrined in one shrine.
It is said to bring good luck and ward off evil, and the rare amulet "Osunamori" that contains sand from the shrine grounds is said to be the strongest talisman.
Nearby is the Hinomisaki Lighthouse, and you can also eat delicious seafood bowls.
The sea is nearby, so it's nice to take a walk.
Inasa Beach
2711 Kitsukikita, Taisha-cho, Izumo-shi, Shimane 699-0702
There is a free parking lot that can accommodate several cars.
Before visiting Izumo Taisha Shrine, go to Inasa Beach and put some sand in a plastic bag. After visiting the Sogasha Shrine at Izumo Taisha Shrine, exchange it for purification sand. Take it home and sprinkle it in your garden or place it in a small bottle in the four corners of your house. It is said that it will have the benefit of warding off evil.

This is a wonderful god who is said to bring blessings to all relationships as the god of matchmaking.
After passing through the second torii gate, you will meet the main deity, Okuninushi-no-Mikoto.
The worship method here is unique, with two bows, four claps, and one bow.
The large rope at the Kagura-den hall is impressive and beautiful!
Going there early in the morning when there are fewer people, and being able to worship slowly while basking in the morning sun was a very mystical experience.
After passing through the approach, there is a copper torii gate.
A local man told me that if you touch and turn this copper torii gate, your "money luck will improve," but according to the official Q&A, this is a fabrication and not a belief that has been around since ancient times at Izumo Taisha Shrine.

Izumo Taisha Shrine
It's about a 30-minute bus ride from Izumo-shi Station. You can get off the bus at the entrance to Izumo Taisha Shrine.
After passing through the torii gate, you will walk along the undulating approach to the main shrine.
Perhaps because we visited early in the morning, there were relatively few tourists, and we were able to worship in clear air.
On the way back, we had a couple's zenzai as a snack. Since we visited in March, we had cherry blossom flavored zenzai.

Izumo Soba "Yakumo"
Yakumo is located in front of the bus terminal of Izumo Taisha Shrine.
It opens at 10am, so even if you visit early in the morning, you can satisfy your hunger.
We went there around 11am, and although there was no wait, it was filled with customers to a certain extent.
The interior and toilets are clean.
The staff's service is also pleasant.
Of course, my husband had soba! 😊
He said it was delicious.
I'm allergic to soba, so... he had oyakodon.
Soba is the way to go when you come to Izumo!
I want to feed my husband, who loves soba!
But I... At times like that, it's really appreciated when there are restaurants that offer food for people with soba allergies.

[Shimane] Izumo Taisha Shrine and Izumo Onsen
I had some time before my flight, so I went to Izumo Taisha for the first time in a while.
There hadn't been any particular changes to the grounds, but there were rabbits everywhere! The White Rabbit of Inaba.
They're so cute, they seem to be popular with women.
On the way back, I couldn't go to the hot spring inn, so I stopped by a hot spring in Izumo city. It was nice, I was soothed. The alkaline hot spring made my skin smooth.

⛩Izumo Taisha
Inasa Beach
It's about a 15-minute walk from Izumo Taisha.
The Kamimukae Shinto Ceremony is held on the 10th day of the 10th month of the lunar calendar (November 6th, 2019).
The land where the 8 million gods come from all over the country for a meeting.
It is said to be one of the 100 best beaches in Japan, and the pure white sand is beautiful.
It seems that Benten Island used to have a bridge in the sea.
I visited the island for the first time this time, as I was told that it would be good to put sand from Inasa Beach in a sand box at Soga Shrine and take home the sand from the box.
Take the Sunrise Izumo sleeper express to Izumo Taisha Shrine
I took the Sunrise Izumo, currently Japan's only sleeper express train, to Izumo Taisha Shrine in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture.
I arrived in Izumo City the next morning, comfortably travelling in a hotel-like carriage without any transfers from Tokyo.
I visited Izumo Taisha Shrine, famous for its god of matchmaking, and enjoyed its famous Izumo soba and Izumo zenzai.
It's a better trip, but I recommend a trip to Izumo, which is full of Japanese charm.

Shimane Izumo Taisha Shrine
Access: About 25 minutes by bus from Izumo Station
Tourist attractions:
Izumo Taisha is one of the three great Shinto shrines in Japan, and is a matchmaking shrine. It has a quiet and beautiful view. You can enjoy the natural trees and greenery as you walk. Pray for good fortune by bowing twice, clapping four times, and bowing once.
Stone rabbits are scattered around, so if you happen to come across one, take your time to admire their cuteness.

Izumo Taisha Shrine, dedicated to the god of matchmaking!
#Shimane #IzumoTaisha
To get to Izumo Taisha, you can transfer to a bus or a local train from JR Izumo-shi Station.
There is not much difference in the time or cost of either option, so I recommend taking the one that suits your timing.
Izumo Taisha is dedicated to the god of matchmaking, and the knot of the shrine is its symbol.
I also had a goshuin written, but the fee is a bit of a tricky system that leaves it up to the person who pays, so I paid the fee with my feelings at the time and respect for the person who wrote it.
Shimane Prefecture Izumo Taisha Shrine
Izumo Taisha Shrine is the most popular shrine in Shimane Prefecture, and is known as the god of matchmaking.
October is Kannazuki, a month without gods, but in October, gods from all over the country gather at Izumo Taisha Shrine, which is a power spot.
Matchmaking charms also make great souvenirs.

[Izumo] Izumo Taisha Shrine
I went to Izumo Taisha, a shrine famous for its good luck.
After passing through the large torii gate, the path continues for a while.
There are many pine trees, and it felt cool even in the hot midsummer.
It is a sacred place, and you can even enjoy forest bathing.
Going further in, you will find the main hall, where you can pray.
There are also many stone rabbit statues in the garden, each one with its own unique personality and cuteness.

[Izumo] Lucky salt: Kamishio

This salt is said to be very auspicious, and can be used for a variety of purposes, such as for eating and as a salt bowl.
The "Kamimukae no Salt" that has received power from Izumo Taisha Shrine seems to be very popular with couples!
The packaging was also cute!
Please buy some as a souvenir.

The land o
The land of Japanese gods came out of the cloud big brother
as early as last year, I planted a cloud, because my friend said that this is the home of ghosts in Japan! After sitting on the special train, I found that this is actually the land of the gods in the hearts of the Japanese, and also the holy place for the love of marriage! Although Izumo Taisha is remote, it does not affect its popularity and its status as the second shrine in Japan (the first is the Ise Jingu Shrine). There are not many people coming to visit the love marriages all over the country!
If the weather is good, the beach here is a good place to watch the sunset, but unfortunately when we arrived, the weather was not good, we could only go to the beach to go!
Transportation: Depart from Songjiang City, take JR to Izumo Station, transfer to the private railway to go to Izumo Taisha Station!
Travel Tips: There are 46 cute bunny in the big club. It is said that it is easier to find a bunny with a heart! !
[Shimane🇯🇵] 3 must-see tourist spots
Shimane Prefecture is a charming tourist destination where Japanese history and nature are in harmony. Izumo Taisha is famous as the god of matchmaking, and many worshippers come from all over the country ☝🏻⭐️
Here are three such spots in Shimane.
___________________________________________
①Izumo Taisha
Izumo Taisha is one of the oldest shrines in Japan, and enshrines Okuninushi-no-Okami, the god of matchmaking. The majestic main hall and huge shimenawa ropes are impressive, and it is a power spot that attracts many worshippers from all over the country. It is also famous as a mythological setting, and is known for the legend of "Kamiarizuki", where Japanese gods gather. It is a representative shrine of Japan, where history and mystery breathe ⭐️
②Owashihama Beach
Owashihama Beach is a beautiful beach with excellent transparency on the Shimane Peninsula. It is popular with families because it is shallow and the waves are calm. You can enjoy a summer moment by swimming and relaxing in the spectacular view of the white sand beach and emerald green sea. The sunset is also exceptional, making it a soothing seaside spot⭐️
③Izumo Hinomisaki Lighthouse
Izumo Hinomisaki Lighthouse is a white stone lighthouse that stands on a cape jutting out into the Sea of Japan at the westernmost tip of the Shimane Peninsula. It was first lit in 1903, and with a tower height of 43.65m above ground and 63.3m above sea level, it proudly stands as the tallest stone lighthouse in Japan ⭐️

Delicious!
[Japan Shimane Izumo] In March, we spent 11 days in the San'in region of Japan 🎌, visiting Shimane Prefecture and Tottori Prefecture. Even though we brought our baby along, the little one was very well-behaved and often sat quietly while we enjoyed our meals 🥹. Japanese rice must be especially tasty because the baby managed to finish half a bowl 🍚 all by themselves! (Add a freshly grilled fish, and that's a complete meal for them 🤩!)
One of the meals we had was at a famous restaurant—"Hanabusa Shoten" 😉, located near the Izumo Hinomisaki Lighthouse. It's incredibly popular 😋, and even though we arrived early, we still had to queue. Luckily, we were early enough, so we only waited about 10 minutes before getting seated. If you come during lunch hours, expect a much longer wait 😎.
"Hanabusa Shoten" benefits from its proximity to the sea, so all the seafood is exceptionally fresh 😍. We ordered the two most lavish seafood bowls, each priced around 3000 yen (~HKD160). The sea urchin was incredibly sweet 😇, and the Japanese oysters were plump, creamy, and bursting with the flavor of the ocean! Each set also came with pickled vegetables and miso soup, making for a very satisfying meal!
