The Palace of Water was built in the artificial lake by the monarch of Jaipur in the 16th century to escape the summer heat. The Palace of Water is a palace built on water and can only be reached by boat. The place where members of the royal family take refuge in summer is located in the Amber Fort. on the way. The palace itself is not open to the public, but from a distance by the lake, the palace seems to be floating on the water, as stunning as a mirage, and the night view is even more charming.

The Wonders of Jal Mahal, Jaipur
Jal Mahal "Water Palace" is a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, India. The palace was originally constructed in 1699; the building and the lake around it were later renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber.
This palace is a great example of the Rajput style of architecture and owing to its location, it is also a great place for phenomenal views. You get a great view of the lake from the palace; you get a great view of the palace from the Nahargarh (“tiger-abode”) hills and the Man Sagar Dam.

Jal Mahal on water
#jalmahal "Water Palace" is a palace located in the middle of the #mansagarlake in Jaipur city, the capital of the state of Rajasthan. Though the palace only appears to be a single storey, there are four further submerged levels with depth of 15 feet. Most importantly, it is only 3 min walk from our Regenta Hotel.
The palace was originally constructed in 1699; the building and the lake around it were later renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber.
The Jal Mahal palace is an architectural showcase of the Rajput style of architecture (common in Rajasthan) on a grand scale. The building has a picturesque view of Man Sagar Lake, but owing to its seclusion from land is equally the focus of a viewpoint from the Man Sagar Dam on the eastern side of the lake in front of the backdrop of the surrounding Nahargarh ("tiger-abode") hills

Jal Mahal, Jaipur: The Serene Water Palace
#favouriteitinerary
Jal Mahal, or the “Water Palace,” is a stunning architectural marvel located in the middle of Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Its name comes from the fact that the palace appears to float on the lake’s surface, creating a mesmerizing and peaceful sight, especially at dawn and dusk when the lake’s waters reflect the palace’s grandeur.
The palace was built during the 18th century by Maharaja Madho Singh I, primarily as a hunting lodge. Jal Mahal blends Mughal and Rajput architectural styles, with intricately designed red sandstone arches, delicate carvings, and charming courtyards. The building has five floors, of which four are submerged under the water, and only the top floor is visible.
Although the palace is not open to the public for entry, visitors can admire its beauty from the shores of the lake, and the surrounding area is popular for boating. The backdrop of the Aravalli hills adds to the tranquility and scenic charm of Jal Mahal, making it one of Jaipur’s most picturesque landmarks.
While visiting Jal Mahal, you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and take in its beautiful surroundings, which make it a favorite spot for photography and a must-see for anyone visiting Jaipur.

Jal Mahal (Water Palace)
Jal Mahal View Point is located Amer Road Jaipur Rajasthan. Jal Mahal in Mansgar Lake View Point near Lake road side is well maintained by JDA Jaipur Rajasthan but Lake is very dirty not clean water properly. A must visit place and you have to take a picture here if you are in Jaipur. Besides looking at this structure, there is nothing much to do.
Best time to visit this place is in the evening. There is place for the visitors on the bank of the Lake just beside the road to enjoy the view of this place. This can be planned during the visit to Amer fort as this is on the way. Probably a beautiful place of the evening to spend some time in your Jaipur visit.
