[2025 Singapore Shopping Mall] Travel Guide for Jalan Besar Plaza (Updated May)

#mysgmemories #tripblazers The Jalan besar community centre is a bigger one with a multi purpose hall at level 2. It brings me back to my memories of where I came here for my vaccination a few years back. There is a gym there which charges affordable prices for the residents. I used to be a member of the gym too. Occasionally there would be elderly spending time there to know new friends. They will chit chat with one another and build new friendships. This is a good for them as they can constantly spend their time wisely with their friends.

371 Jln Besar, #01-01, Singapore 208998 Punggol Nasi Lemak has been one of my favorites many years ago. Although the price is on the higher side, their food is of high quality. My favorite would be their fried chicken wings. It is crispy, juicy, and yummy. The egg was also nicely cooked where the egg yolk was not too hard. The ikan bilis and peanuts were crunchy and we loved it. Usually we will spend around $8 to $10 on a plate of nasi lemak after adding on other dishes such as vegetables and luncheon meat. Their sambal chili is spicy and yummy too. There is a public car park behind the shop. You can park there and enjoy your meal there. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

166 Jln Besar, Singapore 208877 The berseh food centre is located at the jalan besar area. The nearest MRT station is a few minutes walk from the rochor DT13 station. There are many parking lots located just outside the food centre. Some of my recommendations would be the turtle soup as it is very nutritional for people who are weak in their health and need more nourishment to boost up their immunity. There is also a mutton soup store where I used to visit to buy their thick flavorful mutton soup. During rainy days it is good to indulge in such heart soup to keep yourself internally warm. 208 Jln Besar, Singapore 208894 Another building that has caught my attention is the bright pink coloured shophouse building. One of the shops at the pink building belongs to the ye Zhi mei bun shop. The shop is famous for their buns. Their highlight is the ye Zhi mei bun, which is a mixture of juicy marinated chicken and pork bun, together with a slice of egg in it. It is huge and very fulfilling to enjoy. The bun was huge and looked like a bowl in size. With the thin layer of skin together with the generous topping of the ingredients, it is definitely one that you should not miss. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

101 Kitchener Road, Singapore 208511 The stretch of shophouses located at the jalan besar area is unique and beautifully coloured. The shophouses have been converted into restaurants, associations, as well as pubs. Each individual shop has its own style. I personally love the bright blue colour of the shop as light blue is a cheerful colour, similar to yellow colour. This is nice to see how they have preserved the old shop houses building and transformed into something attractive that will catch your sight. There is a stretch of parellel parking road for you to park if you want to visit any of the shops there. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

216G Syed Alwi Road, Singapore 207799 The Da Lian noodle stall is located at the jalan besar area. It is a 10 minute walk from the rochor DT13 mrt station. Or you can take a 15 minutes walk from the lavender MRT station. The noodles were delicious with lots of gravy. The noodles are big in portion and start from $5. The noodle stall closes late at night. Hence you can even have a bowl of yummy noodles after midnight. If you are driving, you can park at the stretch of parallel parking located just outside the food stall. Be sure to try out their tasty noodle here some time soon. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

Rehau Building 1, 01-00 King George's Ave, 208557 Anytime fitness is a new concept in Singapore. Upon paying a monthly subscription, you can enjoy using the gym facilities anytime you want. There are few fitness options in Singapore. The one at the jalan besar is open 24 hours daily. You can even go to the gym in the middle of the night, or early in the morning before you start to work. The fitness Corner is equipped with a wide range of fitness equipment. You will definitely love the place. As there is no trainer in the gym, you would have to look after yourself when doing exercise. It would be good to read the instructions before using the equipment. 67 Maude Road, Singapore 208348 Did you know you can enjoy putien dishes at a much affordable price? Yes, you are right ! You can actually visit the Ming Chung restaurant located at Maude Street. The nearest MRT station is 10 minutes walk from the rochor DT13 MRT station. Be sure to come early especially on weekends to avoid the long queue. There is parking available at the jalan besar plaza as well as at the parallel road outside the restaurant. My favorite dish is the lor mee and the Xing hwa bee hoon. They have the authentic Xing hwa putien taste. In addition, I love their beancurd dish too. 183/185/187/189, Jln Besar, 191/193, 208882 The swee choon tim sum restaurant is one of the famous dim sum restaurants in Singapore. I love to eat there as they have a wide range of deserts to choose from. Their eatery is spacious and there are a few blocks under them. At times you may even need to queue up for your turn to go into the restaurants to eat. If you are driving you can park at the parallel parking lot just located along their shop. Parking fees apply. If you are taking a train, you can alight at the rochor DT13 station, and take a few minutes walk there. I love their egg tarts and their char siew bun. It is juicy and sweet. You will definitely fall in love with them. Together with other choices of dim sum, you will definitely have a fulfilling meal there. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

101 Kitchener Road, Singapore 208511 Located near the jalan besar plaza, there is a shop where the exterior is painted with spray paint. The artistic metal rolling door turned from a dull grey colour to a bright vibrant one. The artist is creative in adding all the text onto the metal rolling door. Be sure to take a look at it the next time you are going there. There is also a multi storey carpark located just beside the store. Be sure to take some picture of the special looking metal rolling door that would definitely catch your attention. 1 Jalan Berseh #b1-01, New World Centre, 209037 The plantation section is located within the sheng siong outlet. There are lots of plants within the supermarket. They do sell fertilizer and pots at amazing low prices. For some of the plants, they do have a discounted price. The next time you are going to shop at the sheng siong supermarket, be sure to take a look at the plant section. You will definitely feel more relaxed lookinf at them. You might even want to bring some of them back and have it your own. Be sure to walk around the supermarket to buy some grocery back as the prices is one of the lowest in town. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

Hot from the vending machine, the freshly made orange juice is definitely your choice under the hot sunny weather in Singapore. Islandwide, there are many orange vending machine.
