The newest one on the block is located at Parry Park where there is a Amazonian themed playground for kids to explore and play pretend. The playground is suited for big and little kids alike as there are more advanced climbing structures and lower slides for the little ones. The park itself is a wonderful place for young and old as there is a acupuncture stone path and an adult exercise area. My little ones could spend hours here without feeling bored! We are so thankful to be living in Singapore where activities like these are aplenty for young families. Do check this park out if you are in in vicinity.

It is the largest Japanese cemetery in Southeast Asia at 29,359 square metres, consisting of 910 tombstones that contain the remains of members of the Japanese community in Singapore, including young Japanese prostitutes, civilians, soldiers and convicted war criminals executed in Changi Prison. It was gazetted as a memorial park by the Singapore government in 1987. The park is typically opened 8am to 6pm and the bougainvillaeas flowers can be seen in full bloom at different times of the year. It’s always a sight to behold with many comparing it to the likes of Japan’s cherry blossoms. Although a pretty photo spot, do also bear in mind to be respectful as it is after all a cemetery.

#singaporetrip Although I don't know much about the history of this place but it was here since when I visited here as a young boy. Today, after my lunch at one of the coffee shop nearby, I decided to go and take a look. I was surprised by the number of visitors coming here, and they were having a great time there taking pictures of themselves with the surroundings. There are lots of display boards & plaques in Japanese and in English which recount the interesting history of the place, the then Japanese community during the war and also some of the more renounced individuals buried at the cemetery. There are beautiful Bougainvillea arches, stone slab paths, shrubs, trees and seatings makes this well kept Japanese Cemetery Park a peaceful place.

This pergola is hidden in the Japanese Cemetery Park in Singapore. It is a very niche place. Not only is it good for taking pictures, it is also a place of historical significance. Unlike some other memorial sites related to World War II, this place has not been hyped up, it is quiet and well protected. Walking in the park on a quiet afternoon, you can only hear the chirping of birds and the rustling of wind through branches.
