[Solo female travel in Sri Lanka] Enjoying tea time at a 5-star hotel in Nuwara Eliya!
If you go to Sri Lanka, you should stop by Nuwara Eliya, the tea producing region. To be honest, it's not a city with many tourist attractions, so you'll probably have a lot of time to kill, but if that's you, I recommend afternoon tea at a hotel!
My recommendation is St. Andrews, a famous 5-star hotel!
Enjoying afternoon tea in Nuwara Eliya was a very valuable experience.
At first, I tried to make a reservation by sending a chat on whatsapp, but there was no reply, so I ordered high tea on the day. As a result, they were able to accommodate me without any problems.
I couldn't choose the type of tea, but it tasted good and went well with the pastries and sweets. I drank several cups, so I couldn't stop going to the toilet in the second half 😂
The snacks and cakes looked beautiful, but you shouldn't expect too much from them. The cream was a little greasy, probably because it was made from vegetable ingredients, which was disappointing. The pineapple jam and the vegetable pie tart on the top shelf were crispy and delicious. The price is cheap, so it's totally OK.
Enjoying high tea in a calm space and relaxing has become a good memory. The staff were very polite and I felt their hospitality. At 3,050 srp per person, the price was reasonable!
Why not try afternoon tea alone while abroad?☕︎
