Zhucuo Village, Jieyang, a village of wealth in ancient times
Zhucuo Village, also known as Zhuli Village, is located in the east of Denggang Town, Jieyang, Guangdong Province. The village is surrounded by mountains and rivers, making it a treasure land. The Wanli Bridge, known as "Denggang (light) shining for thousands of miles" by the government in ancient times, is located next to the village. The footprints of the saint of wind and rain are also near the village.
Zhucuo Village was built in 1279 and has a history of more than 700 years. It was a famous "village of wealth" in ancient times.
The villagers of Zhucuo Village are descendants of Zhu Xi, a Neo-Confucian scholar of the Song Dynasty. The village is also the origin of more than 10 Zhu villages in the Chaoshan area. The villagers have always followed Zhu Xi's spirit of advocating culture and education, making it a place of outstanding people.
Zhucuo Village is a famous ancient village in Guangdong Province. The ancient buildings here are large in scale, and many ancient buildings from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties have been preserved. In particular, the architectural style of the village is simple, with few complex designs, fully reflecting the characteristics of Yuan Dynasty architecture. Unfortunately, many ancient buildings here have been abandoned as people left the village, and have been damaged by wind and rain over the years. Some of the repaired houses have basically maintained their original appearance, from which you can see the history of the village.
If you want to appreciate large-scale ancient buildings, if you want to taste the original ancient village, if you want to explore the continuation of Zhuzi culture, then Zhucuo Village is a good option.
