The Jingang Pagoda in Guandu Town was first built in the first year of the Ming Dynasty (1457 AD). It was donated by Luo Gui, a eunuch who guarded Yunnan. In the fifth year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the upper part of the pagoda was damaged by an earthquake, and was later repaired by Luo Guozhen, the county magistrate of Kunming. The Jingang Pagoda was built of sandstone, with a unique shape and fine construction, and can be regarded as the best among the Jingang throne-style pagodas in China. The Jingang Pagoda is one of the earlier and most historic pagodas among the more than 10 existing Jingang Pagodas in China. The base is square, with each side about 9.8 meters wide and 4.7 meters high. The main tower is about 17.13 meters high. The base of the Jingang Pagoda is a spiral shell, with silt underneath, and the entire pagoda gradually sinks. On June 24, 2002, the soft foundation of the King Kong Tower was lifted as a whole. The project adopted advanced pipe jacking replacement technology and steel strand prestressed concrete technology, which solved many technical problems such as the synchronous balance of vibration and lifting during startup, and raised the King Kong Tower by 2.6 meters. Now the King Kong Tower is more spectacular.
