Gyeongsang-do has always been famous for seeing the beautiful cherry blossoms in Korea. From Zhenhai, which commemorates the national hero Yi Sun-sin, to Shili Cherry Blossom Road at Shuangkei Temple in Hadong, every scenery will make your trip worthwhile. In 1955, Jinhae-eup broke away from Changwon-gun and was upgraded to a city. It was merged into Changwon City on July 1, 2010 and became a district of the city. It is an important military port in South Korea, and both the Republic of Korea Navy and the U.S. Navy have established Zhenhai Naval Base in this area. There are more than 220,000 cherry trees in Zhenhai. In spring, it becomes a sea of cherry blossoms. The whole city of Zhenhai is a scenic spot for cherry blossom viewing. The most famous ones are Anmin Road, Naval Base Command, and Emperor Mountain Park. Shili Cherry Blossom Road is a 6-kilometer road from Hwagae Market in Hadong-gun, Gyeongnam to Sangkei Temple. Large cherry trees over 60 years old are blooming along the winding valley, because there are many young lovers in the valley. Ten-mile Cherry Blossom Road walks and promises a lifetime, so it is also called "Wedding Road". After viewing the cherry blossoms, you can go to Huakai Market to experience the simple folk customs of the village market. There are many teahouses along the way, not to be missed!
