The Miró Foundation on Montjuic Hill is an art gallery with a rich collection of Miró's works, with a collection of nearly 10,000 pieces. Collection types include paintings, sculptures, textiles, prints, posters, drawings, etc., showcasing the extraordinary talent of the artist. The works are mainly composed of Miro in his later years. The building of the Miró Foundation itself is also very elegant. It was designed by the Catalan architect Josep Sert, and the spacious interior has excellent lighting conditions, which is ideal for viewing the colorful works of Miró. Among the works of Miró in the museum's collection, his later works account for the majority, and the model of "Woman and Bird" is very worth seeing. In addition, there are 39 exhibitions of "Collection Dedicated to Miro" by artists such as Matisse and Erlenst, which are also not to be missed.

Joan Miró, born in Barcelona, he was considered to be one of the most prominent representatives of surrealism. To get to know his work better and its contact with the city, it is vital to visit the Miro foundation.
Although it is a lesser known place, it is interesting to see where Joan Miró was born. Miró lived in one of these houses for years and also had his workshop there for a time.

Barcelona’s foremost artist Joan Miró
If you are to look for one name in Barcelona’s modern art scene, among all those Spanish artists that the city welcomed one that would be written in capital letters is JOAN MIRÓ.
The Catalan artist was born here in 1893 and developed most of his art career in this city - although towards the latter part of his life he moved to the balearic island of Mallorca -
His artworks are spread all over the city, even when you walk along Barcelona’s main promenade - Las Ramblas - you will be stepping on one of his murals
Certainly though, one of his greatest contributions to the city is his Art Foundation, hanging on the cliff side of Mountjuic mountain boasting impressive views all over Barcelona.
Joan Miro foundation open its doors in June 1975, in a newly built center that, itself, was conceived as an art installation, with its white walls and architectural design to become a physical expression of that modern art

Barcelona, Spain🇪🇸 The Joan Miró Museum, a work of art in its own right
Last year, when I went, I was lucky enough to go during the Night of the Museums festival, so I was able to enter the Joan Miró Museum for free :)
'Night of the Museums' is a festival held annually throughout the European Union, and on the day of the festival, it opens from 7pm to 1am, and all museums are open for free!
The Joan Miró Museum is a museum built by the Catalan genius artist Joan Miró in Montjuic to foster young artists!
I went in an hour early, took a break at the Joan Miró Museum cafeteria, and was able to quickly get a free ticket and look around ✨✨
The building is beautiful, and the interior is really beautiful! Barcelona has many unique and wonderful buildings, so I think it's a city of architecture!
