Yes there are many Korean fried chicken outlets in Johor Bahru. I just came back from Seoul and I was still craving Korean fried chicken so I had to order it when I was waiting for my kimdo bbq to be ready. It took 40-50 minutes for the fried chicken to be ready. So it was alright for me since I was just staying at Holiday Inn JBCC. It is not easy to order Korean fried chicken because there will be many choices. You have to choose which flavour you want and if you cannot choose then please take the half-half combo. Treat yourself to a All Berry Bang fruit juice which is my favourite drink and also a popular drink for many others. You can add toppings too and I recommend adding chai seeds. As you can tell from the name of the drink, this drink contains many types of berries such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Then add on yogurt and ice cubes and send to the blender. After having my breakfast nearby JB Sentral, I decided to walk across to JB CitySquare mall to stop over for a dessert and probably do some shopping. I personally think this is a decent mall in JB that have good range of shops and eateries including cafes compared to other malls in JB that I have visited during my trip. Their queue is also pretty reasonable so good if you are in a rush :)

This restaurant is inside City Square and it is clean and air-conditioned. Else you can try the other roasted duck place which is at Jalan Dhoby area. But it is in an older area and it is a coffeeshop. Next time then I will tell you more about this YA WANG. For Meng Meng Roasted Duck, it is inside the innercity on level 3, next to the Thai massage parlour. You can order their trio meat combination and pair it with fragrant rice or dry noodles. This is their first overseas branch and it is right here at Citysquare JB, at innercity area. They are famous for their dumplings and you can even buy them frozen too. I will call them “pau” instead of dumplings because it is quite huge and you can choose your fillings, pork or kimchi. I’ll suggest you buy single “pau” instead of the 10 for 49 ringgit. This is because you may not be able to finish eating. They also sell fried dumplings, noodles and rice cakes too. This is a shopping area inside Citysquare JB, Innercity. It has two levels and mainly caters for the younger customers. However, after the pandemic, most of the stalls have moved out. There are only a handful of tattoo shops and restaurants remaining. But this innercity is still looking artistic with all their artwork done by local artists. You can easily roam around here and take as many photos like me. There are a few Korean restaurants in this area too. There is a Din Tai Fung restaurant at Citysquare and it is always crowded. Most of their customers are like me, from Singapore coming over for a day trip or staycation. The reasons why we will choose Din Tai Fung when we also can eat it back home are because of the many varieties and pricing. For taste, it is almost the same but I cannot vouch for their braised beef noodles. The choice of beef cut in my recent experience was pretty ok. I didn’t like the tough cut. With the currency conversion rates, be ready to order a feast at Dragon i with their reasonable pricing. Dragon i is a Chinese restaurant and they also have other restaurants under the same group. Before covid, they also had a peking duck restaurant at JBCC but it has been closed down. I love their donuts and froyo ice cream. They are located at ground level inside Citysquare and you always see the queue to buy donuts at Jco. They are popular for many JB day trippers to bring their donuts back to Singapore. If you have time, I suggest you try their coffee and there are plenty of seats in their cafe too. It is also possible to take away their coffee and even froyo ice cream back to your hotel room too.
