The 2023 Changgyeonggung Palace Night has begun. As the lights come on, the Changgyeonggung Palace at night turns into a glowing palace. Located in the heart of Seoul, Changgyeonggung Palace is one of the five grand palaces of Korea and is a historical site not to be missed when visiting Seoul. Originally built during the Joseon Dynasty, it served as a residence for royal family members. It once suffered a great fire, but after reconstruction, it became even larger and more magnificent. Changgyeonggung Palace includes palaces, ancestral temples, government offices, a rear garden, and a glasshouse that was later used as a botanical garden. It features architectural styles from the Joseon period and also incorporates European designs, making it truly beautiful! The Grand Greenhouse is Korea's earliest Western-style building, shining brilliantly under the sunlight during the day. At night, the lights reflected from the greenhouse create a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The Grand Greenhouse of Changgyeonggung Palace is only open at night from March to November. Please keep this in mind when planning your trip.

It is the earliest and most credible place to honor Confucianism, and currently retains four buildings. Among them, the main hall is under maintenance, and the Yongning Hall can be viewed from the outside. In 1995, it was designated as a World Cultural Heritage site. 🎫 Visiting the Ancestral Shrine is not possible at any time: there are Chinese-speaking guides available on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 11 AM and 3 PM. Other languages such as Korean, English, and Japanese are also available, with times shown in image three. During these times, visitors cannot enter freely to tour the interior; they must be led in and out by a guide. As long as you understand, you can choose any language freely. On other dates, you can enter freely, but it is not recommended. The interior buildings are used for sacrificial purposes, so they are quite simple, and without an introduction, the visit may seem too simplistic. 🎫 A ticket costs one thousand won, and the ticket prices for attractions in Seoul are generally very cheap.

A beautiful, scenic, and peaceful shrine that includes 6 ancient buildings. The greenery is so extensive that you can easily forget you're in the heart of one of the world's largest cities. A beautiful park, very good for walking and checking out the shrine and park's plants. We were there around 4 PM and it was just right, not too sunny and not too cold. The park closes around 6 PM, so watch your time. A great park for a walk, run, or bike ride with the family. On weekdays, you can only enter the shrine grounds if you are on a tour, and it's more relaxed on weekends. I didn't mind the tour actually, because it moved quite quickly and was quite informative. They also offer tours in English and various other languages. A wonderful public park in Seoul, Korea, where you can learn more about Korean history, and the entrance fee is only 1,000 won per person. The weather was nice and we enjoyed the scenic park with other locals and tourists. The park is mostly flat, but there are some nice inclines when you walk further. Some places were blocked off, but there's a lot to see in the area. It took us less than an hour to see everything and it's quite close to Ikseon-dong where we went for drinks later.
