Early spring flower viewing | The dreamy pink flower sea of Kadoorie Farm
Entering February, the weather begins to warm up, which is a good time to enjoy flowers! Many people choose to go to Japan, South Korea and other places to enjoy cherry blossoms. For those who cannot take time off to travel, don't be discouraged. The Tai Po Jockey Club Farm and Botanic Garden has a large number of cherry trees and plum trees in full bloom, and there are large romantic pink flower seas covering the mountains. In February, there are also workshops for visitors to interact and connect with animals such as deer, owls, bats, leopard cats, pythons, etc.
Tai Po Jockey Club Farm and Botanic Garden is surrounded by the entire hill, and many Hong Kong people will visit on weekends to enjoy the countryside and get close to small animals. As spring approaches, the farm's camellia cherry blossoms and plum blossoms are already in full bloom. Near the Hu Ting-sheng Memorial Pavilion on the farm mountain, there are many cherry and plum trees, which turn into large pink flower seas after blooming, attracting a large number of tourists to come and watch!
Walking into the forest path, dozens of cherry blossoms and plum blossoms compete for beauty, and there are plenty of pink fallen leaves on the ground, very romantic, like flying to Japan or Korea to enjoy cherry blossoms in a second! Many lovebirds will land on the cherry blossoms to collect nectar, and the bright yellow lovebirds match the pink peach blossoms, making reporters unable to resist stopping to admire.
To enjoy the flowers easily, you can buy a bus ticket at the main entrance of the farm and take the "park sightseeing bus" up the mountain. During the flower season, special trips are also added to facilitate visitors to enjoy the flowers on the mountain. Due to the large number of visitors to the farm every day, bus tickets are sold out at 9 am every morning, so it is recommended to book in advance.
Cherry and plum trees can be found throughout the park, along with a large variety of plants such as boxwood, fuchsia, and peonies. Visitors can explore the mountain paths and the official website also provides suggested routes. Along the way, you will encounter various small animals raised on the farms.
The farm will hold an "Animal Encounter" event on February 12th and 19th, where participants can get up close with local mammals, birds of prey, bamboo worms, pythons, and more. In addition to interacting with the animals, attendees will also learn about their backgrounds and habits in places like the kitchen where caretakers work.
If you are unable to participate in the "Animal Full Contact" activity, you can also sign up as a volunteer to make animal toys, pine cones, paper strips, etc. are the favorite toys of monkeys.
