We set off at 8 am again, following the commuter traffic to the old town of Antalya, entering through Hadrian's Gate and walking through the alleys of the Kaleici Historic District. The former residents have all moved out, and the old houses have been converted into guesthouses, restaurants, and shops. It gets very lively here in the summer. The guide said that both Russians and Ukrainians like to come here, and although the two countries are at war, you can see buses from travel agencies from both countries parked side by side. I thought the pier in Kas was already beautiful, but when the guide took us to the harbor pier viewing platform, I was really amazed by the scenery. It started snowing heavily when we crossed the Taurus Mountains, and the road was covered with snow. The car went down the mountain slowly, but the driver was very skilled, and we arrived at the Konya Grand Hotel at around 7:30 pm without any problems.

On the plus side, Kaleici has a beautiful marina surrounded by cliffs, shops and restaurants. Walking around the Old Town Kaleici is interesting due to history and architecture with lots of interesting local shops. The town is built on a hillside so you are either walking upbank or down bank interspersed with steps here and there - people with mobility issues might struggle getting around. There is a great tram service that takes you into Antalya city or local beaches. Also lots of taxis. There are plenty of money exchange bureaus and we found the exchange rates much better there than at at home. The scenery here in Kaleici is so beautiful that it is the most memorable place in Turkey. When I went there, the sun was shining, just out of the blue Mediterranean Sea, allowing me to quietly admire the city.  There is a variety of food stores, specialty shops, local people on the road, and leisurely fishing on the shore that you can find. You can stop for a cup of apple tea in the outdoor seating of the café. You can purchase lovely tea sets in one of the many shops on the street as well. It is the perfect place for a lazy vacation in the sun.
