#KamuiwakkaYunotaki
KamuiwakkaYunotaki is a famous hot spring waterfall located on the Shiretoko Peninsula in Hokkaido. "Kamuiwakka" means "water of the gods" in Ainu. This waterfall was formed naturally when hot spring water flowed into a river, and the pool at the bottom of the waterfall is used as a natural open-air bath.
Characteristics
Hot spring ingredients
The hot spring contains sulfur and has a unique scent. The temperature varies depending on the location, ranging from relatively warm to lukewarm.
Access
It is located further inland from the Shiretoko Five Lakes, and it used to be possible to get close by car, but now it is recommended to access it by shuttle bus or on foot for protection.
Natural Environment
The Shiretoko Peninsula is registered as a World Natural Heritage Site, and untouched nature spreads. Bears may appear in the surrounding area, so caution is required.
Cautions
Because it is a sulfur spring, bathing for a long time may put a strain on the skin.
The rocks are slippery, so please be careful when walking.
This is a rare spot where you can enjoy a mystical atmosphere and a hot spring experience that is one with nature.
