The birthplace of Bungy Jumping #Kawarau Bridge - Otago, New Zealand
#AprilGoodDestinations2025
The Kawarau Bridge, which was originally just a bridge across the Kawarau River, became famous for its high-altitude bungy jumping, also known as bungy jumping or boogie jumping. In November 1988, New Zealand entrepreneur Hackett introduced bungee jumping to Queenstown and operated it as a tourist business model, using the Kalawa Bridge as a diving platform. After media reports, a bungee jumping craze swept across the world. The height from the bridge diving platform to the surface of the Karava River is about 43 meters. Visitors can cheer for their teammates or other participants at the observation deck nearby. Some people jumped directly off the bridge without saying a word, some people trembled on the diving platform, and some groups of members pooled money to encourage other timid teammates to jump. It was really fun. In fact, this sport is safe. After entering the diving platform, the staff will fix the rope on the tourists before entering the diving platform. After entering the diving platform, another group of people will do the final check. After it is safe, the audience will cheer and count down. 5.4.3.2.1 As soon as the event is over, participants will jump down without looking back. As long as you are in good physical condition and brave enough, you may as well give it a try!
