Kayabuki no Sato Hatago We visited here on a trip to celebrate my grandmother and mother's 80th and 60th birthdays. I like beautiful and luxurious inns, but the thatched roofs are full of atmosphere as if you've traveled back in time. Of course the food, scenery, and hot springs are great, but the highlight is the hospitality-filled service. As it was an anniversary trip, we had champagne and chanchanko 🎉 We even received a souvenir on the way out, and we were grateful for the generous hospitality. We headed straight for Yamba Dam from Ikaho IC. It was a hot day, but water was being released from the dam, so we took the elevator down and were able to watch it being released up close. Because it hadn't rained, the amount of water around seemed low, but the dam was spectacular! New soba restaurants and hot spring inns have opened nearby, as well as a bungee jumping platform.
