🇸🇬 Beautiful Sunset at Kent Ridge
#bestsunset #100WaysOfTravel
On my way to Kent Ridge MRT station, I alighted at the NUH bus stop and happened to see a glowing sunset. It was about 7pm and along the AYE expressway towards NUH. The sun was glowing and the skies were clear. It was a good day and the sunset lasted until 7.40pm. There were not much high rise building here and the views are unblocked. I also walked up to the overhead bridge to get closer to the sunset and there was no crowd here too. If you are staying in the hotels in this area, you should be able to see sunset in the west direction.

Hiking In Kent Ridge Park On Weekends
There are so many hikes located around Singapore where most of the scenic hikes are located in the southern ridges of Singapore.
A park located near pasir panjang is the Kent Ridge Park located at Vigilante Dr, the entrance is via the South bouna vista road which will take you up a very steep slop where you can drive all the way up towards the top of Kent ridge.
In this park, there are many rich history here where you are able to gain knowledge on the days where Singapore was in war with the Japanese and how Kent Ridge Park was used as a battle ground for Singapore. How this quiet scenic beautiful park can be part of the world war. Do remember to stop by the lookout point where you can catch the sun setting over the horizon. There is also the Kent Ridge pond and the dragonfly ponds closer towards the science park drive where you can do a nice stroll towards.

Battlefield turned Park on a Hill
Kent Ridge Park has a rich history behind it as it used to be one of the battlefields during World War II, where one of the last and fiercest fights had occurred.
The entrance to the park is not easy to find, however there are signs which you can follow that will lead you to the park from Kent Ridge mrt station. Expect some turns and gradually go up the slopes before reaching the top. While you are at it, take in the serenity and fresh air. Take a break and be rewarded with views of the sea and the cargoes from far upon arriving at the top, and take a moment to appreciate the valiant efforts of the soldiers who fought for the nation.

Fitness Corner at Kent Ridge
#newyearnewtrip
While taking my walk along the Kent ridge park, I managed to find the fitness corner hidden near the hilltop of the park. Here, there are several stations of fitness corners that you can train out. From the cardio exercises equipment provided there, to stretching exercises tools, there are all available there. You can practice your chin up and sit up there too. There are also some corners with sandy ground where children can build their own sand castle there too. The park was very quiet and there were not many people there during the weekdays in the morning when I went there. Be sure to check it out when you visit the Kent ridge park.

Beautiful Flowers in Park
#newyearnewtrip
While taking my two hour walk here at the Kent ridge park, I have discovered many beautiful flowers here . Apart from the huge alocasia and colocasia that are placed here in the park, there are also some other plants that produce beautiful flowers. Some of them are the periwinkle plant that produces both pink and white flowers. There is also the frangipani huge plant that also produces pink flowers . You can also see pollinators such as bees and butterflies , enjoying themselves and doing their role as pollinators to ensure that the flowers get pollinated into fruit harvest. You will be amazed by the wide varieties of rainbow colour flowers here.
