Serenity Awaits: Summer Cruise on Kenyir Lake
#100WaysOfTravel
A summer cruise on Kenyir Lake is an experience that brings you closer to nature in the most serene way possible. As we embarked on our boat, the vast expanse of the lake unfolded before us, surrounded by lush green hills and dotted with small islands. The air was fresh, and the gentle breeze carried the scent of the surrounding rainforest, instantly putting me in a state of relaxation.
Gliding over the calm, mirror-like waters, I couldn’t help but marvel at the untouched beauty of Kenyir Lake. This man-made marvel, the largest in Southeast Asia, offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Our boat ride took us past hidden waterfalls and secluded coves, each more picturesque than the last. The highlight of the cruise was when we anchored near a small island, where we took a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters. The coolness of the lake was the perfect remedy for the summer heat.
As we cruised further, we spotted various species of birds and even a family of otters playing near the shore. The boat’s captain shared stories about the lake’s history and the unique flora and fauna that call it home, adding depth to the experience.
The cruise ended with a breathtaking sunset, the sky painted in hues of orange and pink, reflecting off the lake’s surface. It was the perfect end to a day spent immersed in nature’s beauty.
Kenyir Lake in the summer is more than just a destination—it’s a sanctuary of tranquility and natural wonder, a place where time slows down and every moment is cherished.

Elephants roaming leisurely in the nature park 🐘
📍Jalan Felda Aring, Tasik Kenyir, 21700 Kuala Berang, Terengganu
🌳 Lake Kenyir Elephant Conservation Village (KECV) is one of the animal and plant conservation projects in Malaysian national parks. This elephant conservation park is located in a forest reserve near Kenyir Lake. The park is very large. It is recommended to spend at least half a day to slowly get in touch with nature. In addition to interacting with the elephants, you can also have an adventure in the park. Canopy Hiking.
🐘 At the designated time, the mahout will lead multiple elephants from the deep mountains and forests to everyone. If you want to have more intimate contact with the elephants, you can buy fruits and vegetables from the mahout to feed the elephants.

Lots of activity can be doing here but need to rent a house boat first in order to enjoy the night here in nature. Sometime we just need nature to cool off our hectic & busy day so here the place. Unpolished gem of the East Coast
#summerdestinations a beautiful lake on the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia (~60kms or an hour’s drive from Kuala Terengganu, the state capital of Terengganu). The lake is very scenic and what is particularly remarkable is the pristine state of the lake set amidst the picturesque backdrop of the Pantai Timur Range. The lake was created in 1985 and it provides water for hydropower generation. It is the largest man-made lake in mainland Southeast Asia with an area of 260,000 hectares. 🍀🐟🌴 #kenyir

Kenyir Lake - the largest man-made lake in Southeast Asia
Kenyir Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Malaysia and the largest man-made freshwater lake in Southeast Asia.
In the 1980s, Malaysia began to implement a large-scale national development plan, one of the major projects was the construction of dams. The Titiwangsa Central Range is the highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia and also gathers a large number of rivers, so there are sufficient natural factors for the artificial lake project.
🚤⛴️ There are many leisure activities available here, including fishing, camping on a boat, river cruise and so on. The store at the pier is owned by the pier. If you want to take a boat trip, you can consult the store owner.
