You can stay at a hot spring hotel for dinner without spending $1000
#Japanese and Korean urban hotels
The hotel itself is located in Hita City, which was affected by floods many years ago, and it is only a town in Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, so the price is very cheap.
However, Hita JR is a stop for many sightseeing trains and express trains. I also took the Yufuin-no-Mori train from Hita to Kinrin Lake, so this place can be considered a bustling yet quiet place. What I remember most is that there was a 5-storey department store nearby. There were more employees than customers. I had a great time shopping there.
Kameyama-tei Ryokan is located a 10-minute walk from JR Hita Station, but the rooms have views of the Mikuma River, and the hot spring also has a 180-degree view of the mountains and rivers. Downstairs is the landing point for the houseboat, where you can enjoy the Hita fireworks and the cormorant feeding show (using small birds to catch fish) in summer.
The hotel also has an open-air footbath with river views, and free yukatas for borrowing to take photos at Mikuma River Park.
The hotel was formerly a restaurant, so the quality of the dinner is excellent, and 15 dishes are served at once on colorful plates, which is quite exaggerated. This is the most unforgettable accommodation experience of this trip. 🌺
