20,000 Steps, One Park, and a Day I’ll Never Forget
I went to Showa Kinen Park expecting a casual stroll and maybe a few nice flower pics… I was not ready for the sheer scale, color, and sense of freedom this place gives you.
From the moment I passed through the gates, it felt like I entered a different world—one filled with endless fields, secret gardens, and winding paths that seemed to go on forever. The skies were impossibly blue, the sun beamed down, and every corner of the park felt like it had its own personality.
First came the flower fields—massive, radiant bursts of poppies, tulips, and sunflowers (depending on the season) rolling across gentle hills. It was like walking through a painter’s dream. Then came the Waterfowl Lake, where people were lazily paddling boats under tree-lined skies. The breeze, the sun, the laughter from families and couples all around—it was one of those “life is good” moments.
But what surprised me most? The scale. There are hidden bonsai gardens. Forest adventure zones. Wildflower meadows. A Japanese traditional garden that feels like a Zen dream. I walked over 20,000 steps without even realizing it—every step filled with color, movement, and calm.
Showa Kinen Park isn’t just a park. It’s a full-blown adventure. A canvas of nature, art, and peace, just outside Tokyo.
