Soba noodles soaked in a dashi broth made from kelp and bonito, sprinkled with salt, and dipped in sauce, you can enjoy three different flavors at once, making this an exquisite soba dish. Built inside the old Komoro Castle grounds, it’s lower in elevation compared to many other famous spots, so the blooms come earlier and thicker. Ancient stone gates and crumbling walls are wrapped in pink, giving the place a slightly melancholic beauty — like nature gently reclaiming history. There’s even a tiny amusement park tucked inside, which gives the whole thing a quirky charm. I wandered through misty sakura tunnels and even got caught in a short spring rain, making the petals stick to the old stones — incredibly photogenic. #Spring0yentrip Komoro is a quiet town in Nagano Prefecture, where history and nature are in harmony. The first place we visited was Komoro Castle Park. Here, we strolled through the park, which spreads out around the castle ruins, and enjoyed the beautiful nature of each season. It was especially beautiful during the spring cherry blossom season, when the area was bustling with people watching the flowers. Within the park, the historic Sannomaru ruins and the castle moat remain, giving the place a traditional feel. We also visited Nostalgia Garden in the center of town, where we were able to walk through the buildings from the early Showa period and the quaint streets, and the historic atmosphere of the townscape soothed our hearts. Around Komoro Station, we could enjoy dishes made with local ingredients, and the Shinshu soba, a specialty of Komoro, was particularly delicious. Komoro is a peaceful town where history and nature blend together, making it the perfect place to spend some relaxing time.
