Claire Konosu
I came to Konosu to see the 17th Konosu Surprise Hinamatsuri 2022.
When you think of Konosu during the Hinamatsuri season, you think of the tallest pyramid-shaped doll stand in Japan! It's such a popular event that it's even featured on the news and variety shows.
In addition to that, Hinamatsuri events were held all over the place, and the whole town was full of energy.
I went to Claire Konosu after hearing that Konosu Hina dolls were on display.
Inside the facility, Konosu Hina dolls, a traditional industry of Konosu, are on display, and the neatly lined up dolls are simply breathtaking!
Because they are handmade by artisans, each doll has a different face, which adds to the charm.
Because they are displayed on a glass wall, you can see the fine craftsmanship of the dolls from behind.
At Claire Konosu, the male and female signs in the restrooms and the social distance footprint marks at the feet are also decorated with pictures of Hina dolls, which is cute!
Hinamatsuri was originally one of the five seasonal festivals, called "Joshi no Sekku," and has a history of spreading as a combination of seasonal events to ward off evil spirits and doll-playing.
I also prayed for an early end to the COVID-19 pandemic.
