Famous Koshary Restaurant in Cairo, Egypt A famous Koshary restaurant. There doesn't seem to be a menu, and the only variation seems to be Koshary or side dishes (salads, etc.). The taste is bland, so it's a bit difficult to eat just one plate, so we ordered one plate for two people. It was 82 Egyptian pounds with salad and water. It's delicious, but I've eaten Koshary several times on this trip to Egypt, and to be honest, I don't feel that there's much difference anywhere. Just sit at an available seat and order, and pay at the same time as ordering. Koshari is a dish made by putting chickpeas, lentils, rice, pasta such as macaroni, and fried onions in a bowl and pouring tomato sauce over it.
