A nation that loves raw fish
Poke bowl originated in Hawaii🏝Originally it was just a cold dish using various kinds of raw fish, but after the war many Japanese immigrants came to Hawaii. As a nation that also loves raw fish, they brought a special fusion of flavors. The seasoning is mainly Japanese, with sesame oil and yuzu vinegar, etc., and sushi rice as the base becomes the staple food🍙
What’s different from Japanese sashimi rice is that a lot of other ingredients are added, such as avocado and jalapeno. The menu is quite simple, with 6 preset combinations ranging from $48 to $118. The most abundant Grand Slam has all the precious ingredients such as salmon and tuna. And you can freely combine ingredients like Subway, and pair it with sushi rice or salad, which gives you a lot of freedom, and there are also a variety of fried snacks 😍
After placing the order, I saw the clerk making it in front of me. The ingredients were freshly made before lunch and the preservation process was also good. Different Pokes were put together in less than 5 minutes, and the distribution of various ingredients was very pleasing to the eye.
🐔Tender Chicken Pochi | $58 | 8/10
The main ingredients are slow-cooked chicken, crab sticks, shredded egg and tofu, served with sushi rice. The waiter was generous with his money and the deep bowl was filled to the brim. The boy was also very full. The slow-cooked chicken is tender and the Caesar salad dressing has a delicate texture and a cheesy flavor.
🦐Hip Shrimp Pochi | $78 | 8.5/10
The main ingredients are tiger shrimp, crab meat, Chinese salad and cherry tomato, and it can be flexibly paired with half rice and half vegetables, which is suitable for office workers who don’t want to eat too much. There are nearly ten tiger shrimps, and the crab meat is also fresh. The edamame has a soft and solid texture, and it is more appetizing when poured with grapefruit salad dressing.
🥗Vegetarian Friends | $48 | 7.5/10
There are vegetarians among my friends. We chose this simplest option and were pleasantly surprised. The taste of the assorted mushrooms, cucumber, cherry tomato and tofu is not too light. The aroma is fresh and natural. The unique umami flavor of the assorted mushrooms combined with the salad leaves makes us eat one mouthful after another.
🍤Fried food platter | $58 | 7.5/10
There were three of us so we were able to order an extra fried food platter, which was definitely a great value. It included fried chicken, squid rings, fried crab claws, fried cheese, shrimp jelly and fish fingers, and we got two of each. The fried shrimp was crispy on the outside and bouncy on the inside, and the squid was chewy and had a nice texture. However, the fried chicken flour was thicker than the chicken, and the meat tasted a bit weird.
