Having stayed in so many sea view hotels, this time I felt particularly "intimate". Close to the sea: Just across the road, you can reach the seaside boardwalk. The sea view in the room is so close and beautiful. Close to the people coming and going on the street, the low floor gives it a friendly and down-to-earth feel. Close to the Avenue of Stars, K11 Musea and Harbour City, less than 10 minutes' walk to the Avenue of Stars and K11 Musea. Moreover, it is only a three-minute walk to East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station and one MTR stop to West Kowloon High Speed ​​Rail Station. The transportation is very convenient. Gymnasium Highlights - Kids activities such as Bell boy service, Festival cookie DIY, Festival Mocktail making. All this while, Kowloon Shangri-la Hotel has been well-known in their great service. Thus, this has made me always feel better and revisit to Kowloon Shangri-la Hotel. Frankly speaking, this trip was my 15th times staying at Shangri-la hotel in this year. Unfortunately, the whole impression has been changed due to the service level being downgraded. Therefore, I have decided will not be coming to this hotel anymore, the main reasons are due to 1) I have very bad impression of service level of front desk staff during room check-in. This guy is rude, no manner at all. As a front office staff should be polite the guests. This guy didn't look at me, then said, give all the guests HKID for check in, but at that moment I came with kids who did not bring their ID (it's not necessary to bring along with if travel locally in Hong Kong, correct me if I'm wrong. Then he asked me to write down name on a piece of paper, after passing to him, he said write date of birth. This type of communication has ruined my feeling for the whole day. 2) Another reason is the welcome tea that given to the guests should not be eliminated, I have praised Shangri-la Hotel has keeping this kind of service at social media, which has given guesthouse feel like staying at own house. Unfortunately this great service has no longer available. The housekeeper came to my room informing me to use electric kettle to boil water for making tea, she said everything is keeping inside the cabinet. 3) We have participated in-house kids activities, so called Cookies DIY. We have six kids in total during the activities, the organizer has insufficient of Christmas Tree cookies in the beginning, shortage of one after distributed to all of us except one of the western foreigner, one of the girl from organizer has asked me to sacrifice my kid's cookie to the western kid. I am just wondering why should I sacrifice instead of the Western girl to wait? This is because of colonial mindset being embedded and persist till today. 4) in fact, I have reserved for in-door swimming pool at 4:30pm, , I was thinking to keep my wallet in side the safety box, but has encountered the safety box was malfunction, due to the door cannot be closed. Every year I go to the Christmas market in Shangri-La to buy Christmas cakes. I tried the new “Longan Sweet Ginger” flavor last year and really liked it. Hotel will be given a small cake for free, as well as prepared for birthday decoration in the room prior to our arrival. We have spent our Lunch buffet at Café Cool. Just as friendly reminder, you will get the small cake for free with candle in your birthday, provided you have to inform the restaurant up-front, otherwise the waiter might just take couple of small cakes from the buffet platters for substitution, it is for temporarily measures. Why I return to this hotel for 5th times within a year? mainly just for their excellent service. In normal circumstances, the welcome tea will be delivered to your room upon check-in, this has made guest has very good feeling, very warm and comfortable, which hardly get this kind of special service from others hotels. The front office staff has giving the excellent treatment by upgrading my deluxe room to full harbour view room. The bathtub is the best choice especially when come with kids. As the Shangri-La Circle member, this is my 6th times visit to this facilities. The main reason I love to visit Shangri-La as the great treatment would be given for every visit. For instance, the welcome tea will be served upon check-in, once you get into the room, you can just take a good rest and enjoy the tea with comfortable environments. This has made you feel like very warm feeling, which is hardly to get this kind of service from most of the hotel. The swimming pool and gymnasium have been opened in this trip, as for my last trip in May, the swimming pool still closed due to the Pandemic.
