They sell incense for religious purposes, as well as fragrant wood and incense paste used at tea ceremonies, and incense sticks and sachets for use in the tatami room. In 2018, Koushukan was opened next to Shoyeido as a base for disseminating information on Japanese fragrances. There is an experience corner where you can experience fragrances, and it seems that they hold events and exhibitions related to fragrances. Admission is free, so we recommend stopping by when you are shopping.

I went to the fragrance museum "Shoyeido Kunjukan". This is a museum where you can learn about fragrances and enjoy them ✨ Admission is free. As you enter the entrance, you will be greeted by three fragrance boxes. Put your head inside the box and enjoy a different scent. It was an interesting spot where you could learn how fragrances are made! While traveling in Osaka, I decided to take an exciting day trip to Kyoto 🚄. There, I stumbled upon an incredibly charming fragrance specialty space called 'Kunshukan 薰習館' 💖. Admission is free ✅, and you can sample a variety of scents on-site 🌿. The space also features a miniature exhibition of the incense stick-making process, which is detailed and meticulously arranged like a small museum—truly impressive ✨. The most fun part was the gacha machine 🎡. You can randomly get incense sticks with different scents, and the thrill and satisfaction of this small fragrance lottery were oddly delightful 💫. The photos turned out beautifully too 📸.
