The river Rambla was originally a small river that separated the old city and the western city wall, hence the name. In the 15th and 17th centuries, with the expansion of the urban area of Barcelona, the river was transformed into a street, and many beautiful churches and colleges were built on both sides. In the 18th century, trees were planted on both sides of the street to become a wide and elegant boulevard. Today this street is still one of the bustling streets of Barcelona. There is a historic spring near Plaza Catalunya, and it is said that everyone who drinks from the spring will come to Barcelona again. This is also where FC Barcelona celebrates after every victory.

Go ahead and make the most of your trip! You can never go wrong with your angles if you wander around before the day tours begin. I suggest, you go early…I was blown away with the architecture even when I was drowsy! Truly, Barcelona was a good choice!
For my next travel, I would like to visit Toledo, Spain. That place is magical! And laid back!

Stunning street views in Barcelona
Nearest metro station: La Rambla
Famous for: exquisite architecture, lively markets, bars and restaurants
Tourist spots nearby: Boqueria Market, San Antoni Market, Sangrada Familia, Barcelona Aquarium
Whether you prefer escaping the city hustles in a quiet coffee shop, or doing full-day shopping and sightseeing; no matter you want to spend big or not even a penny, this is the right place for you. Just looking at the tourist gifts, food and flowers in the market is entertaining; there are also various museums and theatres if you want to dig deep into local culture and music.
In terms of bars and restaurants, you should expect to be paying a bit more than other areas, but the portions are usually huge and your stomach will be satisfied. It is also an area you should be particularly careful about pickpockets!

The Columbus Monument in La Rambla! 😍😍
Strolling along La Rambla to Columbus Monument in the sunshine! Great way to spend our last afternoon
Columbus Monument-- serves as a reminder that Christopher Columbus reported to Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand V in Barcelona after his first trip to the new continent. ❤️❤️❤️
