The Lahore National Museum opposite Lahore University is the largest museum in Pakistan with many collections. The collections in the museum are divided into 7 major series, namely: fine arts, paintings, Buddha statues, folk customs, creatures, coins, etc. The museum houses unearthed artifacts from the prehistoric Stone Age 500,000 years ago to the Moenjodaro and Gandhara periods. Here, visitors can watch coins from various historical periods, precious cultural relics of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism, including: pottery bullock carts 4,000 years ago, thousands of Buddha statues in Gandhara period, and stone carvings in the heyday of Buddhism. Portraits, architectural decorations in the Islamic period; there are also the world's earliest "Koran", carpets used by Mughal emperors, and thousands of Buddhas carved from whole ivory and porcelain vases with Chinese characters, which symbolize ancient Pakistani exchanges.
