Explore Taiwan's seasonal secret "Laomei Green Stone Trough"
#New Taipei Attractions #Taiwan
The Laomei Green Stone Trough, located in Laomei Village, New Taipei City, was voted one of the eight secret places in Taiwan by CNN and is also one of the most distinctive geological landscapes on the north coast.
The volcanic reefs left on the coast after the eruption of Datun Volcano hundreds of thousands of years ago have gradually formed stone grooves that are perpendicular to the coastline and arranged in an interlaced manner after a long period of weathering and wave erosion. Every spring, the stone trough is covered with green seaweed, and the stone trough is exposed at low tide every day, forming a green dream coast.
When the waves hit the shore, sea water sometimes spurts out between the stone troughs, sometimes as high as several meters, which is quite unique.
🕐Best time to visit:
The official statement is that the best and greenest season is April, when the tide is low from February to May every year.
The low tide time is different every day, so check it out before going.
Fugui Cape Lighthouse is also near the scenic spot and can be visited together
⚠️Note: The surface of the stone trough is slippery, and the geological landscape must be protected, so please avoid stepping on the stone trough
