I saw Layar Seafood listed as the TOP 1 seafood restaurant in Surabaya and naturally I wanted to try it during my visit in Surabaya. I brought along my local Friend for a dinner at this restaurant. It was an excellent meal. The fish we ordered was fresh! My favourite was the squid in asam manis! Highly recommended, though pricing can be slightly steep but it’s a great place to celebrate occasions and have great tasting seafood. Most of the seafood are live, and you can hand pick them. Don't miss the Indonesian specialty Soto Ayam, a delicious chicken soup served with rice—absolutely divine! The hygiene standard is much better than other street vendors or restaurant. This place is newly renovated with great ambience. We ordered some dishes and all taste good, especially this es pudding and unique fried papaya leave. Service is quite slow, but expected from Indonesia.
