Found a treasure hotel in Suzhou with great value for money
In-depth review of Le Méridien Suzhou Bay: College students' first experience of a luxury hotel
As a college student who is determined to check in at hundreds of luxury hotels, after doing some research, I found that luxury hotels at the same price can bring super high emotional value, so I started my exploration journey of Marriott hotels, and the first stop was Le Méridien Suzhou Bay.
🏘️Room type/layout:
The hotel is located in Suzhou Bay, Wujiang District, Suzhou, and is one of the hotels closest to Taihu Lake. Floors 1 to 3 are the lobby, restaurant, banquet hall and recreational facilities. There is no 4th floor. Floors 5 to 12 are guest rooms, and the lounge is on the 12th floor. I communicated with the hotel on the APP two days in advance using my gold card and successfully secured a lake view room. The room area starts from 53 square meters, which is very spacious. The room has a reasonable layout and a great lake view. The room faces west, and when the weather is good, you can enjoy the beautiful sunset over Taihu Lake.
🛌Supplies/Facilities:
The room is equipped with an ironing board, and the entire bathroom is Kohler brand. Although there is no Washlet, the water pressure for bathing is high, which makes people feel very comfortable. The supplies are Amy's Marlin Dog shower gel, and the smell is very popular. The bedding is moderately soft and hard, very comfortable. However, the room uses a Samsung TV, which cannot cast the screen; takeout needs to be picked up in the lobby; and disposable bathtub covers are not provided. The hair dryer is a lesser-known brand. But the hotel service details are very good. After I noted that I have the habit of drinking tea, 6 + 1 bottles of water were prepared in the room. The required space pillows were also prepared in advance. When I changed rooms due to air-conditioning problems, the missed space pillows were delivered in time.
🧹Soundproofing/Sanitation:
The sound insulation effect is good, and you can hardly hear any noise from the outside world in the room, so you can enjoy a quiet rest environment. Cleanliness was excellent, the rooms were spotlessly clean and the common areas were always kept clean and tidy.
💗Other tips:
1. Hotel landscape and features: The 3rd floor lobby, 2nd floor gym and 3rd floor lobby bar all offer views of Taihu Lake. The hotel integrates the characteristics of the Le Méridien brand, with white as the main visual theme, and is embellished with blue and cyan elements that are characteristic of Taihu Lake. There is a fish-themed art installation outside the elevator hall, which echoes the nearby Taihu Lake. You can walk directly to the lake from the first floor, which is very suitable for taking a walk and enjoying the scenery. Unfortunately, it was the rainy season in the Yangtze River Delta when I went there.
2. Dining experience: I tried chocolate mousse and cheesecake in the lobby bar. The cheesecake was dense and not sour, and the chocolate mousse was rich and rich in taste. It tasted much better than the dessert in a well-known coffee shop.
3. Service experience: From the communication before check-in to the service during check-in, everything is very considerate. The staff will take the initiative to greet the guests when they see them, and handle the problems quickly and thoughtfully. Although I was not able to get breakfast, I understand it considering the high occupancy rate of the hotel.
4. Second visit plan: Due to weather reasons, I was unable to enjoy the sunset over Taihu Lake. I plan to check in again during the summer vacation to experience the pleasure of watching the sunset in the room. Moreover, weekend prices are lower than weekdays, which is very suitable for planning a vacation trip.
Overall, Le Méridien Suzhou Bay left me with a very good first impression. It is a very suitable hotel for vacation and is definitely worth staying at again.
