[2025 Budapest Airports] Travel Guide for Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (Updated Apr)

Flying out from Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport, went through interesting duty free shop Heinemann. There is a huge selection of liquor and wine section. There is even a Taste and Fly section where you can sample taste some sausages and wine tasting! The most interesting is theee us large area where Unicum which is a Hungarian herbal liqueur which is drank after meals to help digestion. This Unicum is classified as Hungary National Drink, you have to try and buy some when you are in Budapest.

Returned from Budapest for business trip and here the update on Budapest Ferenc Liszt International airport, it is a relatively small airport with 2 terminals. The check in process is relatively straightforward. Once you passed the security check, there is a food court and some restaurants on the level 2. If you want to have proper meals, pls do it before passing passport control for international flights as there are limited choices for food once past passport control. There are also a few airline lounges for you to visit. There are some retail shops but very limited on what they offer.

Took Qatar airways from Budapest International airport and had a chance to visit Celebi Business Lounge at level 2 after passport control. It is a relatively small lounge but the seats are comfy enough to have some rest. They also serve both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and simple food like sandwiches and snacks. There is no boarding announcements in the lounge but there are a TV monitor to show all departing flights status.

Decent airport. Did online check in so flew through security gates in minutes. Lots of good F&B options after security and plentiful seating. Wifi was reliable and bathrooms easy to find. Excellent transportation options to downtown with the 100E and 200E airport busses running every few minutes. Duty free and restaurants/Cafe accept HUF and Euro. I flew from Budapest to Incheon on Turkish Airlines! I had a layover in Istanbul, and in-flight meals were served three times in total. From Budapest to Istanbul, they served once right after boarding, and from Istanbul to Incheon, they served twice because it was a long distance. I could choose between Turkish food, Korean food, and Western food, but I was worried about the spices, so I ordered Western food, and they were all delicious. Also, the bread that was served every time I had in-flight meals was really tasty, and it was amazing when I spread jam on it.. #JapanAirlineEvent Budapest Airport is located far from the city center, so using public transportation is essential! The cheapest way is to take the 100E bus and get off in the city near your accommodation :) The 100E bus ticket machine is outside the airport, so I recommend using the ticket office inside the airport ~

This hotel is a little pricey but it is right next to the hotel, a mere 300m walk away. Very good for an early morning flight. Breakfast cafe was open at 4am! There is a self check in kiosk at the hotel lobby which can print boarding passes and luggage tags - beats queuing at the departure terminal at the airport for sure. Breakfast buffet spread was wide and my kids enjoyed it.

It is a good choice to transit in Budapest, Hungary! The airport is quite large, with two sides: One side is the international line, the other side is the European line But after security check, both sides can pass through I believe many guests will stay at the airport for transfer. Therefore, the airport also has many entertainment facilities and restaurants for guests to use. There is a piano in the airport🎹 and a children's playground🛝 Adults can play football games, and the hotel is considerate for transfer passengers. This is the lounge after immigration at Liszt Florence Airport. I used Priority Pass. You can drink Hungarian Tokaj wine! The vegetable and syrup pie, and milk were all delicious. It was a Friday morning, but it was empty. I really wished I could have checked in earlier so I could take it easy. If your check-in time is just right, it's perfectly fine to have a meal here. If you have a Priority Pass, please make use of it.

Flew back from Budapest and was at their Heinemann duty free outlet. The lay out of this outlet is interesting, there is a huge section on liquor for sales. The display of their Unicum is good and quite excessive. Unicum is a Hungarian herbal liquor which has more forty herb included with a special formula. This drink is typically taken after meals to improve digestion. This drink is created in year 1790. There is section for to have some tasting before any purchase. This is good and worth the visit.
