We arrived early in the morning and stayed until closing, completely absorbed in the experience. The highlight was watching the spectacular "Dream of Tokyio" performance, which brought the Song Dynasty to life. I even rented a Hanfu, and with so many others dressed in traditional attire, it felt like I had truly traveled back in time to the Song era. The park's atmosphere was enchanting, with its rich historical charm, affordable and varied food options, and countless performances that kept us entertained all day.

Thought the park all through the day are small and large cultural shows aimed at showcasing the culture and traditions of the Song Dynasty in this replica town. The town was modelled after the famous painting ‘On the River during Qing Ming festival’ and you really feel like you’ve stepped right into the painting!

🕙History of Xiangguo Temple: Daxiangguo Temple, formerly known as Jianguo Temple, is a famous Buddhist temple in China. It was built in the sixth year of Tianbao in the Northern Qi Dynasty (555). In the first year of the Yanhe reign of the Tang Dynasty (712 AD), Emperor Ruizong of the Tang Dynasty named the temple Daxiangguo Temple in memory of his ascension from Prince of Xiang to the throne. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Xiangguo Temple was highly respected by the royal family and expanded many times. It was the largest temple in the capital and the national center of Buddhist activities. Later it was destroyed due to war and floods. It was rebuilt in the tenth year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1671). The Daxiangguo Temple that can be seen now was restored in 1992 when Buddhist activities were resumed and the bell tower, drum tower and other buildings were rebuilt. I like this park for its tranquillity and very special atmosphere, like something immense and intangible is floating in the air and filling your body. I've been there several times all around the year. There are three sections, but my favorite is a road going through the lake accompanied by flowers.

Song Du Yu Jie. Kaifeng city, Henan province. This is commercial street, where you can find everything. It represents the spirit of Song Dynasty and that trade-prosperity trend dominated in the city of Kaifeng during the Song ancient time. What can I say? This is pretty nice place for familiarization with local life and people habits. Also, it could be pleasant walk during earliest morning when owners just begin to open their shops.

Shanxi, Shaanxi and Gansu Provincial hall. Kaifeng city, Henan province. This beautiful hall as a government house was established during Song dynasty flourishing time. The merchants born in Gansu, Shanxi and Shaanxi who had done trade in the prosperous city of Kaifeng has found it. The old city wall is very close to. The lake is big for the small city, water now is much cleaner than before. Fresh wind coming from the lake makes this place ideal for promenade during summer. Kaifeng Drum Tower and road around. Well, every respectful Chinese city must have the Drum Tower and Kaifeng is not an exception. The beautiful building is located exactly in the city center and oriented towards north, south, west and east like it canonically required.
