To avoid disappointment, we reserved a table with a lake view one day in advance. Tang Lee Food Art is renowned as one of the "New Four Garden Restaurants of Guangzhou" and has existed since the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, making it the first garden-style restaurant in Xiguan. The restaurant’s layout is charming, with a winding bridge corridor leading into the garden. You can even dine on a boat, giving the atmosphere of being in Jiangnan. We ordered must-try dishes like the heritage-style braised pigeon, crispy black char siu, Taishan eel fried rice, signature chicken, stewed fish maw, and salted pork with radish. Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared. Classic Cantonese songs played in the background, and the local Cantonese chatter around us gave a homely feel.
