Visit and experience making pottery at Bat Trang Pottery Museum. Bat Trang is a famous craft village located on the banks of the Red River, only about 30 minutes drive from the center of Hanoi. Bat Trang Pottery Museum was built in 2018, inspired by the curves of pottery on the turntable. This is a very attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists. This series was taken in early September 2024, during my week-long stay in Vietnam, traveling from Vui Tinh in the south to Hanoi in the north, covering almost the entire country. To catch the morning fish market in the central coast from a small southwestern border town, I even went without sleep for over 20 hours... After nearly 10 days of early starts and late returns, I came away with this series "Bountiful Vietnam." - 1️⃣&2️⃣ Morning market in Vui Nam 3️⃣ Fish market by the sea in Quang Nam Province 4️⃣ Farmer harvesting water lilies in Long An Province (staged) 5️⃣ Fish drying factory in Phan Thiet 6️⃣ Elderly villager weaving fishing tools in Hung Yen (staged) 7️⃣ Incense drying factory in Hanoi (staged) 8️⃣ Fish sauce factory in Phan Thiet 9️⃣ Soy sauce factory in Hanoi (staged) - Vietnam truly deserves to be called the pinnacle of human aerial photography, with numerous photogenic agricultural, fishing, and handicraft activities across the country. Because so many photographers capture these subjects, and many win awards with these themes, it has led to many staged scenes (as I've noted in parentheses). Local farmers clearly understand what photographers want to capture, performing standard actions with practiced fluidity... Hanoi Old Quarter is the heart and soul of Vietnam’s capital, offering a perfect mix of history, culture, and energy. Walking through its narrow streets feels like stepping into a different world—one filled with charming colonial buildings, ancient temples, and the constant buzz of motorbikes. Each street is unique, often named after the traditional craft once sold there, like Silk Street or Silver Street. The food here is incredible! From famous pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) to delicious banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich), the street food vendors serve some of the best meals you’ll ever eat. Don’t forget to try the famous egg coffee at one of the many cozy cafés. Shopping in the Old Quarter is also an adventure. Markets and small shops sell everything from souvenirs to handmade crafts at bargain prices. Be ready to practice your bargaining skills!

Here's a travel plan from Bangkok to Vietnam, covering Sapa and Hanoi, perfect for a 4-5 day long weekend. Day 1: Fly directly from Bangkok to Hanoi. Skip Hanoi and take a sleeper bus from Hanoi to Sapa, which takes about 5-6 hours. Review of the sleeper bus to Sapa: - Travel time: 6-7 hours (overnight), arriving in Sapa in the morning - Cost: around 700 THB - Cleanliness: quite good, new bus - Comfort: the bus is not crowded, comfortable for sleeping Day 2: Arrive in Sapa in the morning. Drag your luggage from the drop-off point to the hotel. We stayed at Chau Long Sapa Hotel, which is great. The hotel is large, with beautiful views and delicious food. Then, take a walk around Sapa town, visit Cong Cafe, which is not far from the hotel and within walking distance. There are many shops along the way. After that, hire a car to Cat Cat Village, rent traditional tribal costumes for photos, and visit the thrilling Rong May Glass Bridge, which has both a glass bridge and a glass elevator. It's a must-visit. Return to Sapa town, visit Sapa Lake, and head back to the hotel (all within walking distance). Day 3: In the morning, take the cable car to the top of Fansipan Mountain. The air is thin, so be prepared for possible dizziness. Buy tickets at Sun Plaza. There are plenty of winter clothes, shoes, gloves, and hats to shop for along the way. At the top of Fansipan, there are cable cars and trams, as well as restaurants. You can choose to walk up or down if you prefer. We went up to the large Buddha statue and paid our respects. Then, return in the evening, stop by Sun Plaza for some shopping, and travel back to Hanoi. Day 4: Arrive in Hanoi in the morning, check into the hotel, and rest. Then, explore Hanoi city, including St. Joseph’s Cathedral and Tran Quoc Pagoda, and go shopping in Hanoi. Day 5: In the morning, visit Cong Cafe in central Hanoi, buy souvenirs, pack your belongings, and head to the airport.
