For food lovers like me, this is the place to be! Whatever you’re in the mood for, you can find it here. From noodles, to barbecues, Korean food or Japanese food, hotpot, seafood, buffets or “a la carte”, even Halal food! They’ve got it all here. The choice is endless. I always fall into a food-coma after a trip to this famous food street. The also have pubs and bars that serves alcoholic beverages. We also found tea house, coffee shops and juice bars. Definitely not a place for peiple on a strict diet as temptations will be around you. You can go at noon for lunch and stay til night as more and more vendors open up their shops. The street is so busy especially at night. Not too far from the center and if are staying at Kempinski hotel (like we did), the taxi ride is about 20 mins. We travelled to Taiyuan from Datong on the train which took about 2.5hrs. We were amazed by the Main Street with all the colourful shops and stands. We came to Taiyuan just before CNY so lots of displays and decorations were up. The street food selection was incredible and we spent a whole evening trying the range of treats. While in Taiyuan we visited pingyao ancient city for a day trip which was very pleasant. We also visited the Giant Buddha located about 30min taxi from downtown Taiyuan. #GiveThanks This place has so many activities and is very enjoyable. As an avid traveler I tend to visit locations that are not usually on the bigger sites. The campus itself is enormous to say the least. Things to do for all ages. They even have a river you can go white water rafting on. My 67 year old mother did it and loved it.

#GiveThanks Traveling through Taiyuan, looking for a good snack and we stumbled across this restaurant called Mr. Pizza. After going to the museum all morning we were surely hungry. This neat restaurant happens to also be a chain. Fondue for the win! Some items on the menu we haven't seen anywhere else and we were excited to get something in our bellies.

#GiveThanks Logan's steakhouse is the perfect place to grab some lunch or even some dinner. If I remember correctly, the head chef is from Canada and definitely knows what foreigners like to eat. The duck oil French fries are beyond amazing. This restaurant is a must stop during your travels.

#GiveThanks A few of us recently visited a new restaurant called Lenbach that has opened up in a nearby mall about ten kilometers from us. The mall is conveniently located near the river in Taiyuan. Great food and a great atmosphere. The food came out as pictured in the menu. We will absolutely return.
